All attacks have multiple damage types. There is the damage being physical or magic or flame...etc. On top of that, every attack is either direct or damage over time or ground targeted(possibly separate from the first two) and also AoE or single target(so the new destruction staff passives can differentiate skills).
Take staff attacks for example. Restoration staves are magic damage and destruction staves are elemental damage so they benefit from Elemental Expert in the apprentice constellation as well as the staff damage increase CP in the atronach constellation.
This is nothing new.

- Mighty (physical damage)
- Master-at-arms (direct damage)
- Physical weapon expert (light attacks)

dwemer_paleologist wrote: »eso is the only mmo i have played that bow was on the lowest and weakest damage list.
infact, what i am used to in mmo is the bow being the most feared of all because you get 2 shot and sometimes just 1 shot from stealth.
now in eso, yes people get sniped, but not anywhere near as bad as other mmo's i have played.
because in eso it usually takes around 4 shots to kill you. not 1. [usually]

Just tested it myself (on PTS for the record) and Master At Arms did buff light/heavy (of bow for the record)

It's my understanding that it was changed on live for the express purpose of not having them double dip. I'll test on live later, shouldn't take more than a minute.
