Console players beware of pvp guilds!

This game is guild based, either for Pvp or pvE, which in most cases is a great thing! But there is a much darker side to this system, in which tens or even hundreds of people can click and report you without even knowing you and ruining your Xbox reputation that in some cases can get you perma banned, losing access to your Xbox achievements, online games and all the stuff you paid thousands of dollars for. Elder Scrolls Online is my favorite game, but is it worth it for me to keep gambling with this faulty system?

How would getting banned from ESO effect your xbox account?

It depends on how you're being reported. If they are reporting you in-game, then yes only your ESO account will be affected. If they choose to instead report you through xbox live then there is a chance your gamertag could get banned.

Opposing team is salty then they clip your gamertag on guild chat with the words "report" and the rest is up to how messed up in the head they are before they fill in the comment section on Xbox report tab...

That's interesting . I didn't know that Xbox punishment severity was based on report quantity.

Not really... if they take their time to put an elaborate sad story it can get you deep in sh.. and xbox has a reputation sistem and if stuff like this keeps on happening ro your acct your rep goes down and when is really really low you can end up perma banned with no online gaming capabilities with that account.

I agree with you it would still b unfair tho, and console players usually report tru xbx or psn.

Like @Pepper8Jack said mostly console players tend to report on xbox and the pc counter part goes directly to zos.

That is pretty insane and will also destroy any attempt to report cheaters or seriously toxic players.
Report an random ganker who played as intended, or just the poor noob left on the battlefield.
My guess is that the report spam is to hide the bad guys.
Luckily everything is stored so it should be possible to look into it, a bit harder on pc because all uses 3rd part voice.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

It's the other way round, actually.

On the PC, ZOS (in theory) won't action the victims of this, and it's a lot easier for ZOS to see that all of the reports have a common vector. An entire guild decides to report someone, it can go off in their face, badly.

However, on XBone, that's not true. Microsoft doesn't have the same kind of detailed records of what's going on in game that ZOS has. So they're more likely to take the mass reports at face value.

    Why pvp guilds?

and is this post about consoles, like you say in your title, or about xbox, like your actual post indicates?

Probably because only PvPers could possibly get salty enough to group report someone 500 times. There is nothing in PvE that could get someone that upset lol.

It's hard not to notice when people come to the forums to talk about the toxicity of the PvP community.

I didn't know I'd made it onto the Anti-PvP poster, though. Please let me know if they issue mugs.

(For the record, I'm not opposed to people having the option to PvP. I just don't want it overlapping with PvE in any way, shape, or form.)

I don't think anyone bans on word alone.

    They would need evidence.

And the chances of this happening to new pvp players is zero! ya'll can put the QQ away.

The only people who would do this are mad at someone beating then out for emp, the pinnacle of pvp which is not possible with casual play.

As an Xbox Ambassador I can tell you that this is false; In the past this was a possible measure but with the dashboard update on 360 this was fixed. When a large amount of players file bad reputation it is then looked into based on it's amount as it would seem odd. Usually it is written off unless proven correct or well deserved.

I should be proof as my Gamertag warrants a lot of.. let's say 'interesting people'.

Dont be naive kid i have seen it happend before the chance of this happening to a new player? Sure the more u expose ppl and the more notorious u get its more than enough for ppl to even acuse u of cheating, and yes for cheating you need evidence and is more common on pc, now consoles when you report someone you dont nesesarily need to do it as game related, just to troll ppl might write that call them any racial slurr in game chat wich you can not prove then multiply that by 100 lol not even that just maybe with 5 or 7 ppl is good enough...when u dont even know the person, just one of many examples.

That's pretty bad even for a big company, if they receive massive amounts of reports like that they shouldn't slap down the hammer right there they need to investigate it with the other company's statistics before judging imo.

You know companies don't ban or take actions on an account just based on getting a number of reports. Reports are simply a tool that calls attention to something. They look for evidence of wrong doing before dishing out disciplinary actions. So if you don't do anything wrong, you have nothing to fear.

You can report in game voicechat and you can not dvr a voice chat convo... wich offers no physical evidence and if there is "witnesses" or guild mates even better. Honestly i dont care if you belive this or not, because at the end ppl are going to keep doing this and nothing is going to be done about it so... The whole point of this thread was to warn ppl to b carefull because this is very real and i have friends that have done it on other games wich i dont agree with but im not going to judge them since they know what is wrong and what is right so its their choice, that is all.

It's not that they're reporting one another. They'll all file reports on individuals outside the guild.

And yet the poster person has a valid point regardless if you choose to mock or not.

I very rarely ever play online multiplayer games, and most of the time that I do it's on PC where it doesn't matter much. Because of that I think my Xbox Rep would say I'm a goody little two shoes. There are many people in online gaming that will not hesitate to try and make your life Hell in some way if you rub them the wrong way.

Console players should be turned into "Xbox" players. You can't do this on PS4, atleast not easily - putting a report in about somebody is also usually ignored unless you send nude pictures and Sony can look at your message history to prove it. One of my friends did this recently - and somebody reported him and he only got 30 day suspension lol but this same guy has also sent tonnes of racist anti-semetic messages to people, who also reported him, and no action was taken. There seems to be a line on PS4 that is only crossed with nudity - anything else goes.

Even mass quanittiy reports are ignored, you can also say the most vile, racist things - and even with the messages to prove it, sony won't touch you. You can also straight up prove to them somebody jailbroke a console or hacked their trophies = no ban.

I don't know what's going on at Xbox, but it's a free-for-all over here lmao
