Thanks For The Buff Tracker ZOS, but, Going Back To Addons

The new buff tracker is fine. But it lacks many things such as a tracker for ground AOE like endless hail making it somewhat useless for endgame pve and there is no way to separate skills from buffs and debuffs, or buffs and debuffs from each other, or have the buffs/debuffs stack vertically or have a name for each buff debuff in addition to the icon. These are all things that need to be implemented for the in game tracker to be useful for many end game pve and pvp users. I would imagine such implementation wouldn't take much time, but for now it's back to the fantastic Srendarr's Buff Tracker. Thanks for the thought though ZOS, hopefully we'll see these features implemented in the future. I know many would also like movable attribute bars if you dont mind.

^This. I wish my Refreshing Path duration is showing in the buff tracker...

This isn't really a change for the PC. We already have better.

Wait until the console people get this, they will appreciate having anything at all.

Tried it once, saw there was almost zero customization options disabled it and never looked back.

Yes and I'm happy for consol users. But even so, ZOS would have to be really blind to their user bases needs to leave out other basic indicators like ground AOE. And those would have been an easy add no question, even if they didn't want to deal with customization.

For any kill on my own skill bar I actually use "ActionDurationReminder" It's a nifty lil addon that shows the duration of a skill, on the actual skill bar and it pops up above the skill bar if it's on your current backbar, it's super useful and it can actually push up your health/stamina/magicka when you swap bars. No need to worry about not seeing those aoe's, and you can actually use the buff/debuff tracker to only track your buffs/debuffs and not actual attacks.

I honestly think this was a waste of dev time.

They should rather look at the most used add-ons, port these to consoles and implement them into their game...

As a console player i think the game is better off without then, PC players with full add ON's have way too much crap on their screen for my liking. Main thing is its an even playing field on Console at least.

I'm happy for console add ons because I have so much up at one time it's easy to lose track of when I need to cast something or if I'm casting too early and wasting resources.

I do have a few friends that share your sentiment though.

One guy I play with likes ESO on console better than PC because console had no add ons. He said he just isn't a fan of having a hand holding program that tells you when to dodge, block, cast and so on. Says it takes the skill out of it and ruins the game for him (I have no opinion on it personally).

To each his/her own I guess.

I'm happy to finally get these.

As a console player I think it's useless. The fact that you can't choose which buffs to track defeats the purpose since the only two buffs I would want to track get drowned out by the dozen I don't need to track. I'll probably use the debuff tracker for my enemies, but that's it.

Ground AoEs have huge graphics on the ground. If you can't track these that's an issue.

I'm pretty excited for it, playing on console totally blind the first year. Then they slowly added groundbreaking things like displaying damage. Maybe in 4 years they'll have a working auction house and get to the level of polish that the alpha for vanilla WoW had.

Sure, but when you're tracking buffs, debuffs, multiple aoes, dots and other things and reapplying without missing a step to maximize dps, while also focusing on boss mechanics in vet or hardmode, especially with multiple party memebers using the same skill, watching for animations to end isn't an option. For normal gameplay yes, by sight is fine, but this is more for endgame pve and pvp.

First off, in large groups they can be nearly impossible to see, and you are right that is an issue. ;)

Also, what about non-ground targeted AoE's? What about self-buffs, or targeted skills or group buffs or proc buffs?

This is completely true however. When I tried them on PTS and noticed how you can't "anchor" the buff bar so your buff icons stay in one place for their duration but rather skip around all over the place I knew right away it was going to be a nearly useless addition.

I really like this addon as well. Only problem is for skills that have more than one buff/effect. The first example that comes to mind is Entropy. That skill has a 14 second (extremely weak) DoT, but you get 20 seconds of Major Sorcery, which is what most people want to track when using it. But the addon only tracks the DoT due to how the buff icons are handled in relation to your skill bar.

Still a great addon, just wish you could refine those types of skills a little bit.

Action Duration Reminder doesn't track anything properly. If you happen to press a button before global cool down, it starts the buff counter though the skill never fired. So if you swap too fast to reapply a buff it provides false information. I uninstalled it again even though the idea of buff tracking skills directly on the action bar is very good.

I have only noticed it tracking skills/buffs that don't actually go off if I get interrupted by a stun etc...never from swapping to quickly.

For myself I'd say it is >99% accurate, but I guess ymmv.

As a primarily console player I was really excited to hear of a tracker finally coming...Until I found out what it was. I can understand Zos coming up with this if there had never been a tracker developed before. Given the fact that they could easily look up the most popular PC add on ones and come up with something similar though, what they came up with seems pathetic. They could've at least, oh I don't know, used the feedback they asked for to tweak it. Like it was bring your kid to work day and their project to keep em busy was developing this tracker. What a disappointment.
