Ok once again annoyed by the fact. They ESO Plus subscribers and DLC owners can not toggle DLC dungeons on or off in the dungeon finder. Making it a somewhat punishing mechanics for all DLC owners or ESO+ members. You pop into a random queue then boom you get sent into a fail at the start group of players on their first characters.(No fault of their own) Of players who refuse to take advice and can not adhere to the mechanics, of these DLC dungeons. Most of these players in the group are on their first lvl 20s and CP80 characters.

That's not the problem however. The problem is if you leave a failed situation that devs. put you into just for paying extra for the content. You get the 15 mins timer. Which I personally think is bad business and always leaves a bad taste in my mouth. So I trying to gather the forum community at whole opinion of situations like these with a poll.

I think that it would be preferable to always be able to select which dungeons you want to queue for. There are some dungeons that I really...do not care for, and do not want to participate in, which puts me off using the dungeon finder/doing dungeons at all.

If you que for random dung it should be random.

Add a properly done, mandatory (only for first time per character) tutorial center to explain each role (what is the bare minimum for healer, tank, dd) and common mechanics (roll dodge, block, don't stand in red, etc) with one or two easy mode dungeons played with NPC's filling in for the other roles and giving vocal cues to the player.

Players should only be able to join group dungeons once completing all the tutorial steps for their desired role successfully.

Yes, the Undaunted Academy that had previously been suggested.

Most of the people that have trouble with these dungeons (and even other easier ones) have no idea of their role actually is and have either trouble asking for / taking in advice or trouble in general communicating in English to be explained the mechanics through chat with a random.

They need to work on the 15 minute timer. If kicked from a group you shouldn't be penalized. The DLC dungeons in normal mode have a reputation they really do not deserve. I've gone in with groups that as soon as they see we are in ICP panic want to quit and say there is no way we can do this. I always tell them if we quit now we have to wait 15 minutes anyway so we might as well try. Sometimes we actually make it through and sometimes we do not. Usually when we do not make it through it is just a problem with figuring out mechanics. A few times it is simply just not enough oomph in the group to make it. That is fairly seldom though really. In trying though at least you have the chance to figure some things out and get better with your character. Usually the group knows on the first boss if they are going to have a chance or not. If not the fifteen minutes is up and the group can try the random option again.

The timer was put in place in part to keep people from just dungeon hopping until they got an easy one for the quick XP bonus. The random dungeon finder gives the bonus because the developers want to entice players to do more content more times.

I chose other because when I queue for random dungeons I either get FunGrots or ICP.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Let's make dungeons random again!

Stop using random, use specific and uncheck what you don't want

Random is a reward for "random"

If you don't want random, which is what you're describing, use specific

No changes are needed in the system because you can already queue for everything except X Y and Z

I think that the minimum level required to enter dungeons should be raised. As a new player to ESO (started in April), I did not queue for my first dungeon until level 40 when I had some actual skills to use (I'm a pure healing class)

With that said I have completed ICP and WGT etc... with lower levels in the group being carried by the rest of the group, but attempting to do ICP with low level tank and dps generally tends to be a lesson in futility unless the character they are on has CP points backing them up and already know the mechanics.

Wait, aint a bunch of base game dungeons level locked for players? Is ICP and WGT open to level 10 players?

Hate to say it, but there are many other MMOs out there (thinking specifically of WoW, because I am a former player) that have dungeon finders and don't have any sort of "Role Tutorial". It's just not needed.

There will always be poor players in MMOs that cannot play their role, making them run through some BS tutorial that they will just ignore and not learn anything from, wont change anything. The difference between WoW and ESO that brings up these forum topics is that there are still normal difficult dungeons in ESO that can be difficult for sub average players, whereas in WoW everything is easy mode.

The fast that there are still dungeons in ESO that aren't easy mode, or require some level of teamwork and cooperation is a blessing, and we should be thankful for it.

And on the note of adding a minimum level to dungeons... that is just absurd. The main reason being that it would deter many new players who want to see dungeon content. The other reason I can think of is CP. I have run many random dungeons with sub-50 players who have 300-600 CP and are carrying the group. With the way CP works, you can have a level 20 player with enough skill points to fill out 2 action bars be much more beneficial to the group than a level 50 player who doesn't have great skill.

EDIT: I always like to get at least 1 friend or guildie to join me before I que. That way I know at least 2 of 4 people in the group can talk/type and know how to play. Then you roll your odds on the other 2 people that the dungeon finder gets for you, and usually it works out.

@Avran_Sylt No dungeons are locked out by level anymore. I don't recall exactly when this changed, but it was at some point when dungeons scaled or the scaled us up for One Tamriel (I think they were unlocked for all before one tamriel though). So yeah, level 10 who has never done a dungeon before could end up in (normal) ICP.

I just think to enter a Vet dungeon you should be CP 160.

I know the original ones for the most are all easy, but when the enemies are all based around CP 160 gear and having the skill points that should just be the requirement

If you want to clear difficult content join a guild ...

... which also means you can avoid the issues of other players in the queue.

    It's as simple as that.

If you really want to avoid the DLC dungeons, you have the "specific dungeon queue" where you can select the dungeons you DO want.

If you sign up for the random dungeon, you are agreeing to help a random group complete the content of their chosing.

pugging into a normal ruins of mazzatun as a level 10 would likely be rage inducing on both ends. Perhaps pugging dungeons should have level lock.

TBH, when I've pug tanked normals just because, more often than not if it was ICP or WGT and I'm paired with a group of under level 20 players, I'll tell them that we can try it, but that it'll take about 4 hours if it's even possible to complete it. they usually agree with me the 5th wipe on the overfiend while he's still above 70% hp.

    Dungeons are still level locked.

Thats why you have a high chance of level 10's being entered into the DLC dungeons on random dungeon queue as they are not level locked and there is a small pool of dungeons like banished cells, fg, and elden hollow +dlc that they can get in.

basically all DLC are non locked, all base game dungeons are level locked starting from level 10 up to like level 45 which is vaults of madness.

So perhaps a solution would be to have level locks while pugging random dungeons, but restrictions are removed if an entire group queued for a specific dungeon.

Maybe they should make an additional tier of membership called ESO++good where you get priority on tanks and healers being paired with your group and only cp630+ matchings. Charge $30 a month for it, and call it a day. Maybe included a "match only with others that have completed vet-hm" button too?

They should just lock the DLC to level 45 aswell, but I believe they dont want to as their belief is that if you buy the DLC as an extra you shouldnt be prohibitted from playing it.

What they dont realise is that they simply dont have the ability, skills or gear as a brand new level 10 who is enetring group finder.
