So, why is Elemental Drain the go to morph?

Because it gives back magicka to the attacker, so this is important to sustain good DPS though long fights

It does more then just give back some magic. A single target will have reduced spell resistance which means that for group attacking the same target they will now need less damage (each hit will damage more) which in turn also reduce need for magicka (and stamina for those whose main resource is stamina).

Yeah but that's also the case of the other morph

I think the other morph also refreshes the duration, and extends the time to 24 sec instead of just 21 sec
