I usually just ignore the request like I have never seen it. Go on about my own interests until it either times out or they drop it somehow. If it is like most games they can only have one duel request out at a time so they eventually get tired of waiting for me to respond and I never feel like I have any requirement to save them any time by declining.

Makes me feel better anyway

I was with a group of other players in the Rift a few nights ago waiting for a dolmen to start again and decided to challenge a level 35 player to a duel, I was level 31, but aimed at the wrong person and challenged a cp 618 to a duel. I got slaughtered in about 5 seconds and we spent the next few mins, before the dolmen activated, having a good laugh about it and she gave me some tips for my build. No hard feelings, live and learn

Every single time I start leveling a new character I hope somebody tries to duel me thinking I'm a new player they can get an easy win off of. There are few things more satisfying than the silence after somebody realizes that being at a higher level than their enemy does not make up for their lack of skill.

I feel you. There's nothing more satisfying than taking someone who thinks they're hot s**t and knocking the chip off their shoulder. It's why I only play a brick tank that does no dmg these days. I put my time in pvp'ing and killing on other toons, then Cyrodiil's toxicity reached levels I could no longer tolerate. Now I hang around waiting for the people who made it that way to show up and inevitably challenge me to a duel, which results in them saying screw it/walking away 99% of the time. The 1% who succeed, ( @Shadzilla ) , have thus far been pretty cool actually.

If i get invites outside the known dueling areas I make them wait too. Basically anywhere I don't approve of dueling I do this.

I do like to let them know I'm making them wait by moving around and going about my business and not afk. Its funny as hell.

Rolled a new character the other day and within 5 minutes of exiting the wailing prison I got an invite to duel. I was in my prison rags and level 3 - some people need to get a life.

Auto declined promptly turned on.

In all honesty, you are the tankiest tank I have ever dueled. Literally needed 5+ minutes to burn you down. In all honesty I could have put on another proc set and changed my bar around a bit, but I didn't know what you were until we got into the duel and I did not feel like quitting. That was a great time

LOL you said "ButtWaffle" I have auto-decline on, I really don't have time to duel and it does not interest me especially when I see people dueling in front of way shrines in cities, trying to cause lag or think anyone really cares what they are doing.
