@The_Red_Viper because without the standalone of the same name, none of this would likely have ever come into existence, and that's the whole of ESO, not just the latest chapter.The_Red_Viper wrote: »Why exactly are you comparing a single player game to an expansion of an MMO?

It sounds like utter horribleness to me.
1. The vague quests that don't have a quest marker
2. Lack of quick travel
3. Every NPC can die
4. The ability to miss attacks
5. That I can't go anywhere I want at start
6. and all the other outdated concepts of the game
I don't deny that people loved it. I have 4 friends who pretty much quit video games in 2011 when Star Wars Galaxies closed that we played for 8 years who get in TS everyday and say "remember star wars galaxies?" with the same comments as the day before. I however have no need for blatant nostaligia glasses and can enjoy games for what they are.
I have over 1000 hours into skyrim and 600 into fallout 4 - I love fallout 3 but hate new vegas. It seems what people call "True rpgs" to me are instead "you finished working today here have more work. I know you're interested in that dungeon before bed but you haven't hit enough mudcrabs for tonight".

I couldn't even get close to finishing the thing. It is such archaic game design that it makes modern eyes bleed. It is high literiture of gaming, its like lord of the rings, actually a serious slog to get through but apperently it is worth it... although I don't know because I couldn't finish it.
Keep in mind I played it after I played skyrim and not within its original gaming context.
I can actually play ESO morrowind regaudless of what else I think about it. It doesn't have the grand scope of TES III since it is within another larger game so its not really a fair fight.
TES3 Morrowind:
Horrible combat, bad graphics, performance problems. Polished lore without many loopholes. Some very immersive storylines despite them not being voice acted. A lot of freedom, more than is possible in an MMO.
ESO Morrowind:
Decentish combat, OK graphics, battleground performance problems. Some immersive storylines that are voice acted. A lot of bad decisions as far as the lore is concerned. Not much freedom since it's an MMO but it captures the spirit of the TES3 Morrowind quite nicely.
tl:dr ESO Morrowind is a better game, TES3 was a better story.
This was my first thought too.logarifmik wrote: »This poll need option "Both games are best in their own way" or something similar to it.
