Alcast did it on his stream. The result is that the DPS is about 10% lower than the META. He did recommend this though if you don't care about this 10% but care about how ugly most monster sets are.

The difference might be minor though, if Alcast presumed a build with vMA staff as meta. I just want to compare a 2x5-set-pieces build, with a build containing 1x 5-pieces-set + minor slayer (Aether/Monndancer jewelry) and maybe a weapon from the one 5-piece set + undaunted set.

And i wonder why...the only class that might use still swords as a DPS in PvE might be the magplar and I would not wear that set on a templar (Julianos is the way to go imho) and even he might have serious issues, because you now need to use HAs for sustain and weave LAs between your dots for dps and ultireg. LAs with a sword on a magicka build don't do that much damage...in other words they hit like a wet noodle.
Nothing stopping you from using it with Julianos, especially if your primarily using magic damage type spells (NB).

Might be an interesting build for players without a vMA staff (like me), but it's not that easy to farm two sets with jewelry and in the case of SM/WM, SotS/BSW etc. even with sharpened weapons either.
Minor Slayer buff is way too strong for pve ... unfortunately. Its about 350-400 spell/weapon damage equivalent, depending on your buffs (warhorn, spc, etc)SW GoH > ESO1 -

I wouldn't say it's too strong.
It's a PvE-only trait that you have to participate in trials to obtain in the first place, so it's not like everyone just starts out with Minor Slayer as soon as they hop into end-game content.
They have to earn those set pieces by doing those trials, which means they earned the right to those passive buffs if they are able to slap together the complete armor sets.1 -

Would Spider cultist not provide better results, it buffs destruction staff abilities by 450, so wall of elements, all 3 elements of force pulse, and lightning heavies on front bar.
Netches would only boost by 400 WoE if you ran lightning staff back bar back bar, Liquid lightning, the shock portion of force pulse and lightning heavies.

On my testing on my MagDK my setup with 5 Juli/5 BSW/1 Kena did significantly less DPS on the skeleton compared to 5 Juli/4 IAE/2 Skoria-or-Grothdarr. And that was before the BSW nerf. Even pumping up your spell damage to the max seems to do less than the minor slayer + monster proc.1 -
