I'm hoping to make a Warden that doesn't use the bear ultimate... now if they made it a wolf... that would be a different matter.

I think the bear should not have to be double barred to remain active. I don't think he's worth it. Now I'm not 50 yet on my warden but the bear's damage is not that great (on stamina) and he's wonky as hell in terms of reliability. For you power levelers does he get better higher up? I still feel dawnbreaker or about any other ultimate would be better.

I use him solo as a source of consistent damage (tank). His AI is pretty dumb though.

Started using the bear today as well. It's been awful, to say the least. While the bear does hit hard, if the opponent moves even a little bit he seems to miss. I think the ult has failed to go off/missed several times as well. I've also had issues with the bear getting lost.

On another note, I used to be able to use Nature's Embrace on my bear. It was a nice feature of an otherwise (mostly) lackluster, yet still cute and fun, ultimate. I now can't, and read somewhere that they changed things so that people couldn't do a teleport-y thing to little critters, and the bear was possibly effected. Would love it if ZOS excluded the bear from that. Running the bear ult and being able to use the self HoT heal was amazing.

I don't like the permanent cosmetic changes the morphs give the bears. I ended up leaving it unmorphed after reading that the only thing I get for magicka is a insta respawn (my bear never dies...whether because everything attacks me, or it tends to randomly disappear during combaT)...I'd rather just keep the default look.

It's the RP ultimate, I guess.

    5) It gets lost. Every time I go over anything that isn't wide open, flat terrain, the bear gets lost or despawns for a while. Often, this results in me fighting numerous mobs/packs without the bear. I believe Sorcerers have to deal with this problem as well? Regardless, it's awful. Really, really awful.

This is the only real issue, and it's actually a bug. Unfortuntly a too frequent one. Pretty much you got to unsummon from character sheet or won't come back, pretty harsh to do on heated moments.
When the snows fall and the white winds blow,
the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

I have to agree with some of these posts... the bear constantly disappearing and reappearing is annoying. I don't mean just in combat, although that can get annoying when he summons into walls or just disappears into a wall... you don't notice he's not visually there and 'Y' him into attack and NPC's go crazy looking for him (although that is somewhat funny to watch) especially since they don't aggro on me while they're looking for him so I can walk right past them. Disappearing I also mean one minute he's in front of you, then he'll fade into mist and appear behind you... then there's the 'FROZEN' look where he just stops moving and looks like a statue. In other words, it doesn't behave like a 'real' bear... I've had to RP that he's a summoned phantom bear because of his unrealistic behavior.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Are the devs looking into fixing the behavior of the bear? From summoning into walls, disappearing and reappearing movement, and the 'frozen' idle (no animation)?

Now for the lack of 'taunt' people keep talking about... for whatever reason I do NOT have this problem. The bear will draw aggro from whoever he is attacking, just like the Clannfear currently does. But no, he does not run into a room full of enemies and draw everyone's attention- unless you 'Y' command him into attacking first and you wait a few seconds before doing any damage- then he usually holds aggro on all but the closest enemies you're attacking. But then again, I'm also not the kind of player who cowers in a corner during combat and when I engage I fully expect to deal with enemies in my face, so perhaps my expectations are a bit lower... I certainly don't expect my bear to do the duties of a full time 'player' tank who has all sorts of taunts and CC abilities.

My Warden Bear does not respond to the "Y" key.

I hold Y and press attack nothing, I hold Y and press block nothing.

The key binging is correct it just does not do anything.

Yes I know that, it did not work. I did a repair of the ESO installation and that fixed it.

IMO, if you really use a pet to tank (and I'm thinking mainly solo players), you should be using the Y-left click function to get your pet on the enemy he needs to be on for as long as it takes. This is what I do with my magsorc and clannfear.

Then I go after the rest of the group (if there's more than one enemy).

Now, with Morrowind, the moment you start a heavy attack (staff), you'll pull your pet off the enemy and he goes running for that enemy. Again, with a group of enemies, your pet could be useless if he keeps running from one enemy to another whenever you switch (while kiting them) your attack. This is both for the clannfear and bear.

Another question, the moment I click on an enemy to send my pet to him/her, why does that NPC start running toward me? That is not logical. The NPC should be going for the pet, not me, because the pet is the immediate danger to the NPC. One thing I also noticed with the bear (since I was starting a Warden), the distance between me and the enemy is there for a reason (to assess the danger, have enough room to kite multiple enemies, etc.). Now with the bear, the moment I click on an enemy to get the bear to go tank him, the entire group of enemies come running toward me, and most of the time, cut the distance between me and the NPCs in half. Now I have to stop what I'm doing and back up to get more separation. And quite a few times, several of the (melee) enemy didn't stop at the bear, they kept running towards me. This is not good for a cloth-and-staff user.

I guess the problem with the health loss/regeneration has been acknowledged by ZOS. I don't know for sure, but I saw several other players making a reference like that.

I really hope some of this issues can be fixed. I understand that a company wants to produce a new product, to give something different to the players, but these issues impact my game play negatively, and from what I've seen, I'm not alone.

Meanwhile, back to my magplar. I parked my staff users until further notice.
