I ran into an issue recently where there were over a dozen threads on the same topic (getting frozen when being arrested by a guard). Should we REALLY all be starting new threads on the same topic? Is it really a BAD idea to centralize the discussion in a single place? Should we automatically rehash old discussion every time a new person discovers the same old bug?

Here is the problem with that... there's a difference between necroing a year-old thread and adding to a thread from a couple weeks or even couple of months ago. The problem is, people creating threads upon threads where just two days ago the same discussion, just last week the same discussions... because they did not bother to SEARCH for the topic because they're too lazy or perhaps just wanted to see their name in 'lights' or something. GOOGLE is your friend and brings up numerous topics, you can filter them by date range (I do this all the time) for most recent information on what you're looking for.

As long as they don't do what EA did and completely remove entire forums full of information and then direct people to use Facebook to discuss games. That was the absolute WORST thing I've ever seen from a gaming company, and shows how GREEDY they are because Facebook is FREE, so they don't have to maintain forum servers or employ several moderators.
