When I see other players near or approaching the boss, I wait until they seem ready or attacking. As a healer, I can kill bosses just fine, but my primary interest is in the health bars of friendlies around me. I've gotten pretty good at noting the character's level and apparent experience/success pretty quickly and trying to supply what is needed. If my elf needs to go mama griz and get in the boss' face, she does that. If the other character is doing well, she'll stay back to simply buff him and curse the boss, perhaps tossing in shards if they look like a stamfighter.

I know it is the healer thing, but I'm quite sensitive to other players near bosses, key quest points or even resource nodes.

If there's any doubt, I'll ask to make sure other players got 'credit' for the boss and offer to hang around to do him again if needed.

My view was shaped by a top level templar healer that did the same for me as a struggling young newbie trying to get a skyshard in a very scary public dungeon. I routinely encounter other higher level players who are clearly and similarly sensitive to the situation and what those around them might be trying to accomplish.

All of this. Exactly. I've been doing a lot of running behind with Combat Prayer, the past few days.

When you've fought long and hard to get through a delve and make it finally to that tier-one boss, you finally have a chance to kill this person that you don't know the reasons why you're killing them! Then before you can attack, some high leveled player comes in and helps you complete the dungeon by wiping the floor with that bosses face. That player just stole your glory though. What a ***. Sorry to say but that high level player had no interest in you. You are not that special for someone to waste their time and go "help" you in a delve. Most likely that high level player was looking for content completion or helping a friend with content completion. No one cares about you so get over the fact that a high level player is doing the same content you are.

    Thank you.

Cry me a river. Currently Morrowind delves and dungeons are packed. I'm at 640CP, but am trying to complete the new content just as everyone else is. I'm looking for where the boss spawns and can't find the spot because the boss is always dead and needs to respawn. So I ask in chat where the spawn spot is and all those lovely low-level snowflakes don't bother to answer. So what goes around comes around.

I know the OP was being a bit oblique in his/her meaning, but very clearly *too* oblique for some...

(Hint, you are actually agreeing with the OP).

Hint...I must have been too "oblique" for you as well. Point is lower level players might want a 600+ player to cooperate with them in some way, but many sure as heck don't bother sending a little cooperation in the other direction.

What the hell?!.. ha ha. Sorry.. I just blew coffee out of my nose from reading your post. This is not a single player game nor easy arse "public" delves/dungeons that you can solo with a no cp, scrub nothing level 3 (just spitted out from ColdHarbour) a solo content, like Harborage of Maelstrom. Is this really a joke..?

You maybe a snowflake but everything melts when my DPS comes to town.

Well, I mean, we wanted a stamina DK option. I just don't think anyone expected that it would have us vomiting on our foes to melt their faces off.

...you finally have a chance to kill this person that you don't know the reasons why you're killing them! ...

Am I the only one a little baffled by this particular part of the OP?

Is the OP implying they have a problem with this? If so, seems a pretty easy fix: just listen to the quest dialogue and read the notes around the delve. Not sure why that part's in there.

    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

Just yesterday going through delves, see low level players, being a Warden I'd throw up some heals to keep them alive and also WAITED while they farmed the area before attacking the boss. I think it's the rudest thing to see any level player breezing by others just to kill the boss and be on their way- not bothering to wait for the other players that they know are also going to want to kill the boss. It's one thing if they're all the way back at the end and seem to be dilly-dallying, but if they're close to the boss, there is no reason not to wait a few seconds for them to get there too.

But the sooner I am out of there the sooner you can have the dungeon/delve/whatever to yourself again! Seriously I typically do dungeons/delves until I've completed my quests/got my achievements then I'm gone. One day you'll find yourself doing similar, I can count on it.

Eh? I often take interest if I see a player in a Delve or Public Dungeon struggling. Not sure what you're ranting about - but it sounds like you just aren't a very nice person :)

I even make sure not to leave them behind so they can get in on the XP action - heck I even take measure not to kill enemies right away so they can get a hit in.

I think OP is just being salty for nothing.

My RP demands that I am the villain so I'm not a nice person ;)
    Plot twist:
OP was the lowbie and this is a thank you thread.

Oh nice! Maybe that was it all along? :D

I've been where the new players are, and I understand what it's like to play like that. Underpowered, unknowing to better playstyles or even rotations. Because of that I've developed a mentality toward new players when I encounter them in Delves or other areas, usually when I come upon them fighting something.

First thing I do when I see a low level fighting some mobs or even a Boss, is wait, sometimes even watch them fight. If they need Healing I give it to them, maybe I'll plop down one AoE to supplement their damage, but for the most part I try not to intervene. I let them have their chance but I won't just sit and watch them lose a fight either.
