Should posions and potions be allowed in battlegrounds?

    What community is that?

It is not the gaming community since most do not frequent the forums.
It is not even the forum community, well, hopefully more than 400 come to the forums.
It is merely those who, for whatever reason, chose to open the threads then also chose to vote in the poll.

In the end forum polls are entertainment value only and provide no defensible information. Statistically speaking that is.
"Statistically speaking" those are responders that actively play the game. No survey ever reaches "most" of the people no matter what the field of the survey is - yet it is enough to form representative group and analyze the output. With the amount of knowledgeable players around I wouldn't be worried about result being ignorant-based only but random with know-hows inside which is exactly how it should be executed, because methodology, "statistically speaking".

when one says representative sample, that is a sample of what?

The key statistically even more importaqnt than numbers is the make-up of the sample. A few respondants of good sample is often better than a large number of responders from a bad sample.

The only thing this sample is representative of is "people on the forum who care about polls and are interested enough in battlegrounds or pvp or potions or poisons to respond."

Definitely not a sample representative of "the eso gaming population of active players."

I put no, but I meant to put YES. With all the sustain struggles now, and battleground matchmaking/grouping/stuggle/struggle/STRUGGLES going on right now... Take potions away? I'd give battlegrounds like 2 weeks till it is dead lol

The reason i vote for allow is you do not really want ZOS IMO to get into micro-policing gear allowed and gear not allowed on the "competitive" content. It is a bad road to nowhere good. once that rubicon is crossed, it wont stop with poisons or whatever your bug-up-butt de jour happens to be.

Cost poisons are stupid and should be removed from the game entirly,
Potions in the other hand are fine imo, except for maybe immovable pots on capture the flag

Statistically speaking it's a skewed sample of the population and therefore it cannot provide a pulse of the game population by any means.

Much of what you said just doesn't make sense outside of a really big stretch to attempt to justify polls that are meant for entertainment.

Potions need to be allowed, because otherwise it severely gimps Argonians. I cannot really think of any racial passives that are turned off in BGs, but if potions are not allowed, it really hurts Argonians by dropping one of their major passives.

I don't like poisons full stop. They feel very unbalanced, and definitely worsen PvP.

Bad idea to conflate potions and poisons. NB game-play revolves around potion usage, and you can't really block that from small scale. Poisons are another matter.

I'm still pretty sure we wouldn't have needed most of the Update 14 "destructive remodeling" if they just did a flat 50% reduction in PVP, and 20% reduction in trials. Then the real problems would have stuck out, and they could have individually addressed each.

So, yes, potions and poisons allowed, but at 50% of their normal overland potency. That gives them enough to be useful, but not enough that it fixes the match from the first second.

Potions of course, they're an integral part of combat, especially with how awful sustain is now.

Cost increasing poisons, god no, remove this sh** either completely or at the very least from no cp PvP. It has no place there.
The community is already loud and clear about this one.

Here is the poll from the Moronwind PTS:

And here is the poll from the PTS when poisons were first introduced.

I don't think it gets any clearer than that. The only question that is still worth asking is "Does ZOS care or even listen when one of their features is overwhelmingly disliked by the community?"

This is definitely not the majority of people playing the game nor even frequenting the forums but it's just 400 semi random eso players that actively frequent the forums. If out of those 400 randoms, 80% said no, and frankly most people I hear in game agree poisons need to go from no cp PvP (at the least)...maybe, just maybe, this should give Zenimax some kind of a hint.

Statistics never analyze 100% of population, they take a sample of a few dozens/hundreds/thousands and extrapolate from there.

It would be better if "cost" poisons just cut your regen by X% for a few seconds. The current cost increase is too painful.
