I vote for removing cost increasing poisons from the game entirely.
Maybe the double damage ones too.
Work our way up from there.

I think potions should be allowed everywhere.

I don't think they should all be flat out disallowed in battlegrounds, but some of them need to be either reworked entirely or balanced seperately from PVE (gee, I feel like I've heard that before ;) )

Seems like it would allow more competitive gameplay if they aren't allowed. Look at games like Pokemon or other competitive games. Just seems like battlegrounds would allow more skilled play without them.

@Stovahkiin Well the ones that are annoying in PvP just don't do that at all in PvE, namely cost increasing :p

if you want more competitive gameplay, set everyone's gear to a standard set of pre-selected normal quality options.

let it be skill, not gear, that determines the outcome.

As soon as an all gold team can whip up on a mostly green and blue team, the word competitive is the thing that should be banned.

bet grandmasters in chess would do fine if they got 5 more pieces than the intl masters when they played.

tennis: you won a grand slam so all your sets start out at 15-love from now on. Except against other grand slammers but you will be seeded so you dont hit them until the finals, semis at best.

Are we really looking at Pokémon for design elements to use in this game? I certainly hope not. That would be worse than what we got this week.

The real question is are they doing it better than here. If not then yeah...I went there.

The community is already loud and clear about this one.

Here is the poll from the Moronwind PTS:

And here is the poll from the PTS when poisons were first introduced.

I don't think it gets any clearer than that. The only question that is still worth asking is "Does ZOS care or even listen when one of their features is overwhelmingly disliked by the community?"

I agree. The gear-gap is a much bigger issue than potions/poisons. In fact there are so many issues with BGs atm, I think potions/poisons (and food) are a comparatively minor issue.

Removing pots is silly. Poisons should be killed. ESO pvp isn't competative, neither is it skilled.

    WOW,

I've always thought we would be better off without costs poisons. I never knew there was such strong majority support for it. ZOS, it sounds like the community has spoken. Take 'em out. Its not like it a change that would trigger a bunch of other balance issues.

    What community is that?

It is not the gaming community since most do not frequent the forums.
It is not even the forum community, well, hopefully more than 400 come to the forums.
It is merely those who, for whatever reason, chose to open the threads then also chose to vote in the poll.

In the end forum polls are entertainment value only and provide no defensible information. Statistically speaking that is.

"Statistically speaking" those are responders that actively play the game. No survey ever reaches "most" of the people no matter what the field of the survey is - yet it is enough to form representative group and analyze the output. With the amount of knowledgeable players around I wouldn't be worried about result being ignorant-based only but random with know-hows inside which is exactly how it should be executed, because methodology, "statistically speaking".

    Ofc they should be allowed.
If it wasn't allowed when they'd have to ban all healing abilities too, no?
