While I agree that Necromancers and Liches are far cooler, I must disagree with some of your points.

    1. Plenty of lore. Take one step in Valenwood

You have a class that has stamina based healing and a lot of pets that can take aggro from mobs...
You will be probably able to solo most of the content of this game (yes even some group content)....

Furthermore - Warden has almost no problems with recurses management.
It is the same case as with sorcerer - class is "too good" when compared to others.

Do I like it ? Yes... I think I do. Even if warden was a total garbage and worst class in eso I would still probably pick it for my main character (that is if this class was available back in 2014 when I started playing eso).

The only thing I don't like is lack of class balance in eso.

Round of applause for the art and animations teams.

I have some misgivings that they tried to cram too many things into one class, but it remains to be seen after further adjustments I suppose.

Seems odd there would be so many spinner-types in the world - I never have this feeling about the other classes - but the loreishness is good enough.

    Many bears.

Voted no it sucks. It is super boring. And I expected the ice skills to be more than just some lame ass shielding, a weird heal, and some ice spikes that shoot out of the ground. So we still dont have a proper ice mage class because of this asinine decision. And no, craptastic staves do not count. In excusable non sense from zeni as usual. I am deeply regretting being stupid enough to give zeni my money for this expansion and coming back to this half-assed excuse of an MMO. Lesson learned.

I really haven't been able to work out what, if anything, I can do with the Warden class.

I do passive RP. Look and feel are very important to me, and in that respect the Warden seems very conflicted.

The bear/snow/ice of Wrothgar doesn't sit well with the cliff racers/netch/mushrooms of Vvardenfell. Nor can I reconcile the Warden's magic pixie mushrooms and fairy wings with the idea of a Hero/Heroine who is tough enough to defeat Molag Bal and save Nirn.

That leaves the “fairy Princess with giant bear” option. But if I go for a Bosmer spinner or even an Argonian tree minder type character then the ice magic just doesn't fit. I'm pretty sure ice and snow are not a part of the natural cycle in Valenwood, Blackmarsh or a lot of other places in Tamriel. It just wouldn’t feel right to me.

Another issue I've got with the Warden are the ways in which the game's mechanics allow us to interact with wild nature. The Warden is supposed to protect the natural environment but almost the only interaction the game's mechanics allow is for us to destroy it. There's no special Warden spell or passive that pacifies wild animals. Just like every other class a Warden cannot walk through the forest without pulling every wolf, senche, skeever and beetle they encounter. And once that happens you either have to kill them or run away.

On top of all those look and feel issues, Mag Wardens also get a big kick in the teeth from the combat meta. I’d want to use an Ice Staff to make best use of the Warden's passives, but if you heavy attack with one of those you taunt. This is not good for a light armour pet build. Necro doesn't come in heavy.

And having said all that you can't get away from the fact that Warden is just another hotchpotch of Major this and Minor that. I don't need it.

At this point I think I'll be using those two new character slots for something other than a Warden.

Warden DPS was absolutely abysmal on the PTS. Getting through vMA was extremely difficult due to low DPS (so much for being able to solo content). They were the worst DPS class by far. ZOS addressed some of their passives on Monday, but I haven't reached 50 yet to test.

When it comes to healing and tanking, they simply aren't as good as templar and DK.

I like it but the animations are too messy and take up too much real estate. compared to a night blade and templar- its over the top. when the forest is cast- i can't even see any templar ground buffs. they need to make it fit in and not clash in terms of palette- when 3 templars cast forest plus bears running about- u can't see anything! they over did it here- trying too hard.

the other thing i hate is that betty netch. every other class when they call upon their major buff- be it armaments , molten or oterhwise- they call upon a basic elemental source, fire, darkness, light, electricity- the warden has ice and water to draw upon- but its most important buffs iss...... a jellyfish?? its weak as. when a DK draws armour- its cool af, when a night blade casts focus- its slick, a templar also looks cool when buffing and sorcs again- look like gods. warden could have been cool- have them pull water from the ground and turn themselves into quicksilver gods- something aweomse and subtle- just a slight colouration and elemental armour around them. but a floating netch by them looks toyish. other than those two points- that
    1. the animations take up too much space and detail on the screen-
    2. and the major buff of netch looks weak as hell

i like that they are versatile- and quite fun to play with. u can do whatever u want with it so far- a master at none sure- but its a good class to do lots with so far.

I think they're afraid of making any paid class too powerful, for fear that people will start screaming "Pay to win!!!" So pretty much any new class that comes out will be underpowered unless they offer it to everyone free via a patch.

I haven't had enough time with it to form a full opinion, yet so far I'm not feeling the Animal Companion skill line. Betty Netch, and Falcon swiftness are the only skills I like the look, and effect of. The earlier skills, and ultimate bear, are neutral to me, I'm just not excited about them.

Most of Green Balance is pretty good. Can't really go wrong with a healing skill line for me. Fungal Growth is my least favorite in appearance, but I do like how everything else in the skill line looks.

Winter's Embrace is by far my favorite skill line for the Warden. I like the look, and effect of all the skills.

I made a Altmer magicka based character, and so she is becoming an ice mage/green healing type character. Using an ice staff, and restoration staff combination is working pretty well so far.

Hopefully I will be able to spend more time on her development this coming weekend.

But one thing I dont like so far is the "blue/green energy" pets. I would rather see a real cliff racer, real beetles. ect.
This whole point your finger and some blue/green energy thing appears isnt really scratching my pet class itch.
I want animal companions! Not funky blue energy things.
And the orange/reddish brown bear companion doesnt look very ferocious. Looks more like hes going in for a cuddle.

I haven't actually tried it yet; planning on making a Warden character soonish though. I'm wondering... do you have to have the bear ultimate for DPS? :\ I'm not keen on bears really... would have been cooler to be a wolf (or a permanent cliff racer!!!!!!) I'd rather play without the pet until they add more options.

Even with all the talks about them being a bad dps class, I'm still gonna make one anyway lol.

I'm fine with Wardens being the last on the dps playing field, as long as they stay true to Wardens having the top group utility of them all. Wardens should have a justifiable trial position, not because they nuke the hardest, but because they make everyone else nuke even harder.

I think if they're gonna buff Wardens, we shouldn't get number buffs, we should get a unique group dps boost that no other class has. Maybe in addition to the 10% HP boost we give with heals, give animal companions a passive that gives major (or minor) heroism every 10 seconds when we cast a spell. Or maybe we increase all damage of a target afflicted by our animal companion spells by 10% . Just examples btw.

Matter fact, this class reminds me of the Astrological class from FFXIV. People were so upset that they were a weak healing class upon release until they realized that between all the unique buffs Astros brought to the raid team, they were worth it. Them being on the team, made the team all together more powerful.

The tldr moral is, don't just number buff us. Make trials want to bring us for other reasons than our dps. That's what a "true" support class should do.

***p.s. I also think one of our animal companions skills should do frost damage instead of magic. Maybe perhaps screaming cliff racer?

Nothing new, other than skin and skill animation.
Weak DD, weak healer, not a tank.
Stamina sucks by default at any class, especially for warden. Mag is better, but not any good in the any specific role as other classes.
It may be good for soloers to help them complete hard solo content - because it can do damage, heal and be a tanky, but not the best in slot for group content.
And since group content requires specialists in their roles and not requires "I can do everything a little", I would say: no, meh

As someone said: I would happy to see Necromancer, but with true skills, not "WTF it was?" as warden has
