New characters got 1 skillPoint more than Pre-Morrowind ones

I am opening a brand new discussion because I feel this thread needs an its own focus on.

With your permission, Mr. @Enodoc, I am quoting you.

@Blackshark But you also get another skill point when you complete the Wailing Prison. That means the original Wailing Prison gave 3 skill points, and the new Morrowind tutorial plus the Wailing Prison gives 4 skill points. That's one extra skill point for new characters.
Well. Crap. That is a big issue. Any word on if ZOS has identified a fix? @Enodoc
Well they said on ESO Live that it wasn't even supposed to be happening, so I don't know what they're doing about it. Now that it has existed on Live though, it'll be harder to address, because there will be some characters who will already have been affected and given that extra skill point.
On the new character, I got 3 skill points at the end of the Morrowind tutorial. I want to say all three came from leveling 1 -> 3 and the new Morrowind tutorial did not award a skill point like Wailing prison.

Wailing Prison I am still receiving the 1 skill point as a quest reward.

If this is accurate then old characters are fine as those 3 skill points from the Morrowind tutorial all came from leveling and not quest rewards. Is this different than what you've experienced? I'm not currently at home to run through the Morrowind tutorial again. Would take 10min to quickly confirm all skill points come from leveling and not quest rewards in the new tutorial...
This is what I experienced on PTS (and I assume what @Zilophos experienced on Live):

Character who plays the Morrowind Tutorial
1 Skill Point for Level 1 > 2.
1 Skill Point for Level 2 > 3.
1 Skill Point for Quest Completion "Broken Bonds".
1 Skill Point for Quest Completion "Soul Shriven in Coldharbour".

Total: 4

Character who skips the Morrowind Tutorial
2 Skill Points for immediate Level 3.
1 Skill Point for skipped tutorial.
1 Skill Point for Quest Completion "Soul Shriven in Coldharbour".

Total: 4

Existing, pre-Morrowind Character
1 Skill Point for Level 1 > 2.
1 Skill Point for Level 2 > 3.
1 Skill Point for Quest Completion "Soul Shriven in Coldharbour".

Total: 3

Existing, pre-Morrowind Character who skipped the tutorial
2 Skill Points for immediate Level 3.
1 Skill Point for skipped tutorial.

Total: 3

Has anyone tested this?

I know that 1 skill point does not any difference and has no impact in a whole developed end-game character, but still this seems quite illogical and senseless to me.

Why have our characters to be punished on the basis of when they were created.

On ESO plus, the Morrowind zone lead specifically said that you get the same amount of skill points creating a character in Morrowind as you did before, whether or not you played the tutorial in either case.

This was tested during the last week of beta after that eso live and in live servers... just because zos says so doesn't mean it's accurate as it's been proven false

I did not follow this, could you please summarize what was tested? Wondering if it's simply the case that newly created characters will end up with the same amount of skill points - not really touching this subject of existing older characters.

Also, if this really is an issue, they could attach a skill point to the quest that sends pre-made players to Firemoth Island.

Alternatively, they could remove the point from Coldharbor. That seems to be the point of redundancy.

I have skipped the Morrowind tutorial and did the Wailing Prison. Although I start at level 3 I only have 2 skill points to spend. Getting that skyshard just makes the partial count as 1/3 (need 3 of them to get a skill point).

I thought they explained on ESO Live that older characters already got their skill point. Did I misunderstand what they said or is it not the same thing that is being discussed here?

Ah thanks, didn't realize that was the test. So did anyone start a new character and do the old tutorial? Because I don't see that listed in the test.

The original tutorial is the last one in the test ("1 Skill Point for Quest Completion "Soul Shriven in Coldharbour"."). Basically the new chars get both tutorials while old chars only get the original tutorial.

For those who like to do everything there should be an option to do the new tutorial like you can do the old one. That I think would be the best option but might not be an easy one to do at this stage.

There is a special quest for characters from othrr areas that goes yo ssme island. I dont think but have not tested that it is not available to those who did the tutorial. That might be the catch-up. Or not.

@SydneyGrey Pretty sure everyone does the Firemoth Island tutorial now whether they own Morrowind or not. Could be wrong, but that's what I thought the devs said.

Are you sure new characters get the Sould Shiver point? I'm just wondering since that's actually the name of the achievement which I didn't think gave a skill point. But if it does, its just a simple fix. Those that do the quest to come to Morrowind get one. I'm just not sure that you get one for that. I don't know anyone that's finished the story in Morrowind to ask if they got one when they went to the mainland.

Indeed, but since you specifically quoted "P2W" I can also apply this logic and say "uh, I don't give ZO$ my money for subs or DLC, I feel left out of DLC skyshards." Also, what Stevil said. Can someone who did the Morrowind Tut look if the former naked Guy in Mournhold etc. is there for these chars too?
