Just HOW important are racials in current patch? (This thread again)
I'm guessing this question gets asked a lot in this section, but how important are the racials in the current build?
I'm asking because I made an Orc and want to turn it into a Warden caster since I am not enjoying Stamina Warden. It's bugging me that the racials are useless for a caster but I can't delete anything until 24 hours.

✭✭✭✭✭Racial passives are unfortunately even more important than before. With the sustain nerf and removal of cost reduction CP passive, all races that have stamina / magicka recovery or skill cost reduction passive have a clear edge over the others.1 -

But if you make a thread criticizing racials and how they pigeonhole whole races into one playstyle, you'll be told, "racials don't matter" or my favorite, "a 10% boost is nothing serious" . It's like everyone self acknowledges racials are too restrictive but the moment you call it out, people get defensive over a much needed around the board nerf of them all.

True but since the CP changes and the importance of sustain now Racials are now more important then before, even Vampire passive with its 10% Mag/Stam reg is better then before now.

✭✭✭Just roll Argonian and your racials won't matter.
Potion, health and healing done/received passives are universally useful, regardless of role. The low magic bonus is negligible in most cases so you can roll either magic or stamina based with very little difference in performance DPS wise, with the option to go Tank or Healer and still remain viable.
All other races (except maybe Dunmer) are shoehorned into either Magic or Stamina builds and while you can ultimately ignore those benefits and make them whatever you want, just realized that you're getting very little benefit for your preferred playstyle. They're there, of course, but in small doses, such as an extra breakfree on a magic Redguard or more utility skill usage as a Stamina Altmer, but that's about it.Argonian forever1
