You are wrong here, depending on the context the avocation of real world violence or hate is very much against the rules and can lead to a ban.

Further telling people that they and their opinions are unimportant is nonconstructive (As is your entire post really) and also against the forum rules.

I didnt say his opinions are unimportant. But nice try at changing what was said to fit your narrative.

You know what im so very close to leaving this game after the bull-*** that i had to read on the text chat in cyro this morning, players praising IS and saying we spit on manchester after last nights terror attack on an arena packed with children for a concert.

As a mancunian born and bred i found it very difficult to have to read these comments from so called gamers, when what they are is nothing short of scumbag terrorists themselves, i know one player whos has screenshotted the text and forwarded this to the anti terror squad in the UK, i hope they are met with a massive knock on the door.

you should fix up and police your chat.

Why should the developers waste resources to accomplish something they have already given you the tools to effectively do yourself? Just place the offending poster on ignore and fix up and police your own chat. This is a problem that already has a solution.

As far the anti-terror squad in the UK goes... I imagine they will be too busy dealing with actual terrorism to concern themselves overly with internet chat on this video game. So I would not get your hopes up about that massive knock on their door.

Your feelings arent important here.../...Go out and get some fresh air and maybe realize how unimportant you and your feelings are to the world.
That's exactly what you said. Twice.
Now you can twist around some rhetorics and find differences between "feelings" and "opinions" ?

While I don't normally take any notice of stupid people making stupid comments, in my opinion this is below the line.

It would be like someone openly mocking the victims of Sept 11th 12 hrs after the attack.

Personally I would have screen shotted it, reported it to Zos and would have told Zos that if I see they are still playing in a few days time, I will also forward the chat to the national press and see what they think of it.

Except facts arent rhetoric. Feelings and Opinions are most definitely different from one another. Telling someone their feelings arent more important than anothers is not telling them their opinions arent important. If anyone here is twisting things its the person trying to assert that opinions and feelings are one in the same.

Maybe, just maybe for once we can not have this debate.

Lets at least let this one thread not break down considering what's happened.

Both sides of the debate, lets let this thread stay clean and open.

Any post on this forum is potentially against the rules then - because what constitutes as nonconstructive is purely subjective.

Forum rules are often written this way so as to be as broad and open to interpretation as possible. Basically they say the moderators can discard your post for what ever reasons they want. So who really knows what is or isn't against the rules? No one does, because it depends entirely on the moderator's own interpretation of the post.

That's why self moderation (using the ignore option) is the best way to approach forums and internet chat generally.

No it's cool man....I usually find when folks downplay stuff like this they have usually been a part of it at one time or another. And really the only narrative I have is a want for folks to be able to like this game with out getting harassed and to be able to play in peace without douchery.

Terrible. Only thing you can do is report. But this is nothing new across online games since forever. It's either people who don't know better (for a myriad of reasons, one being possibly their parents failed society) or people who have anonymity behind a screen and keyboard and the only consequence is being banned from the game. A ban that is easily circumvented by purchasing the game again and creating new account.

Zone chat is not always toxic, but it's worth turning off for that 1% occasion OP mentioned.

I turn it back on in starter zones so I may see if new players need help, or if some interesting guilds are recruiting.
