No Morrowind for ESO PLUS Memembers?

So After logging in today, and updating went into game and NOPE.. no access.

Any reason why us Plus Members cannot get access to this?... since we do pay.

As someone said, I'm glad you came out from under your rock. Morrowind is considered as a chapter (a.k.a expansion), and ESO+ only gives access to DLCs (a.k.a. major updates). If you want to go on Vvardenfell, you have to buy the chapter. This has been known for months.

they said this quite a long while ago that this is a standalone expansion that would have to be purchased separately.

in fact it was in the Pre-order FAQ back in January + numerous other places

Yes there is a reason. Some will tell you that "Downloadable content" is not actually content you can download, it is content called an expansion (or chapter in this case) which you download, so your subscription dosent qualify you for the downloadable content.

Now sit back and enjoy the rebuttals as many will attempt to convince you that content you can download, like Morrowind is not downloadable content. ZOS has some extremely loyal customers, they will even type out and save replies to the affect above. If I hadnt read it myself last month I never would have believed it.

I'm genuinely curious how you could know morrowind was coming but not know you had to buy it, I can understand the guy who didn't realize it was available today but they've said you have to buy literally every where.

I'm guessing that the OP is one of those majority of players that doesn't live on the forums like the rest of us. So it is understandable if they weren't aware that ESO+ wouldn't cover the expansion.

It's their new business model that they explained earlier this year, when they announced Morrowind.

In Q1, everyone gets a free DLC. This year it was Homestead. In Q2, they release a new "Chapter", which is a DLC with a couple of major base game features (like the Warden) locked behind the purchase of said DLC. Q3 and Q4 will return to the subscription model, offering a dungeon DLC in Q3 and a regular DLC in Q4.

WoW players pay a subscription, but every single expansion they release has to be purchased anyway, it's pretty much a standard thing in mmo's, the difference here is that we have been spoilt because we've been given access to the crown store DLC's with subscription, most mmo's don't do that.

ZOS LIED plain and simple.

Used to be ESO Plus = ALL DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT

This is fact.

They changed it to "Access to all DLC Game Packs available in the Crown Store"

So they could sell their fake expansion DLC and screw subbers over, without even giving a way to get it with crowns...

Its disgusting and scummy ZOS as usual.

In terms of pure content vs previous DLC's...morrowind blows the others out of the water.

Then you add in a new class?

Most MMO's that have expansions add more substantial content when adding an expansion though. This is basically Wrothgar 2.0 for double the price(or more)

Guys, not everyone lives on the forum or checks into the news site frequently. They're not obligated to do so either.

If the last they heard about subscriptions was that they'd have access to all the new content, that's what they're going to expect when they come back until they have a chance to catch up or ask what's going on.

For it to be a lie, they had to have known back in 2015 that they would be releasing content that was not covered by ESO Plus. If you can show me that this is the case, then please do so.

What ZOS did was change their mind in a manner that contradicts something that they have already said. It wasn't the first time, and it won't be the last time. I wish it were the last time, for there are some decisions that they could easily reverse that I am hoping they never do.
