So, is sharpened still the ideal trait for Resto Staff, or is powered, charged, etc better?

Every healer has another opinion, which trait is the best. For me presice is a good choose; Your heal is strong enough in PvE with a damagebuild and your damage increase with this trait too. So you are more flexible.

I've no idea what is 'best'. My healer runs powered on her resto staff and sharpened on her lightning staff. Seems to work pretty well.

Precise is a beautiful trait for a Resto staff. Better heals and more damage overall makes it a nice balanced trait for a Healer.

Sharpened is only really useful for perhaps NB healers as their heals are also damage skills and Funnel's Heal is more potent the more damage you do.

Powered is sort of redundant as overhealing is far too easy to do, granted maybe the changes in Morrowind will remedy this. Still, I personally don't feel it's that great a trait but might be useful starting off as a Healer.

Infused is only really useful on something like a Master Resto to get the most mileage out of the enchantment before recharging it.

    Charged is worthless.

    Defending is great for PvP.

Nirnhoned is alright but Precise or Sharpened are better in general, not to mention less costly.

    Decisive is meh

    Defending for PvE???? Really? Why?

I would go Powered for PvE without a doubt, that or Precise.

10% less damage, a dead healer can't heal.

Pretty much, heals are so powerful as they are at end level, most heals will already be over healing, best to make yourself more robust than waste a trait on getting more overhealing.

Forget to heal themselves or something?

No, come on, you know as well as I that sometimes stuff happens and it is better to have 10% less incoming damage then 7% more heals or crits.

I personally use defending on my resto staff. The way I think of it is that the extra armor rating could be the difference between life/death during those "oh-sh|t" moments.

"Defending" in Highest tier of game (vMoL hm etc..)

Otherwise, according to your character build, powered or precise.

On my NB healer, I use dual resto staves (might change after Morrowind patch, though) with sharpened on my front bar (funnel health, sap essence, impale, combat prayer, inner light) and precise on my back bar. Works well for me so far.
