You bought the wrong kind of game.
If you don't like other players why would you buy an mmo?
There are no benefits for my style of play (solo):
- Enter a dungeon or quest area and there are no mobs to kill.
- Start killing a monster/boss and another player "helps" me kill it.
- Go to a locked chests and it's not there: someone else got there first.
- Go to the locked chest, it's there, start killing nearby monsters while another player goes straight to the chest.
- Break into a house and sneak to a chest: another thief is already there.
I just completed the "Retrieve the ledger from the warehouse" quest and it was crazy. I was supposed to sneak in for a discrete theft. Instead, I was one of five thieves, throwing apple smoke bombs and sneaking around, getting chased by guards. Game immersion was non-existant.
Mega Server means there are a lot more players attempting to get to the resources (dungeons, mobs, chests, materials (ore, wood, etc)), making them more difficult/frustrating to obtain. From my point of view, the Mega Server makes it more difficult to accomplish tasks in the game and erodes my enjoyment of the game.
Apparently (from account information) I started playing in December 29, 2015 but quit a few months after that, for the reasons mentioned above. I'm back in May 2017, bought the Thieves Guild DLC and already I'm getting "tired" of the game.

I suppose it is harder on the server to have those extras open with just a couple people, then only open them when needed.

Yeah we all would wish this, imagine how easy farming and grinding would be... as i did im SWTOR, killing a boss that gave up some cool stuff to sell at auction house, change instance, rekill it, and so on non-stop...Yeah was some kind of exploit, but was fun and easy money making at the launch of the game
Imagine all the BoTs in here camping bosses in dngeons with the option to change instance, they would lvoe it a lot (wink)

Most free to play games have loot timers anymore, so I'm not sure what would really change.
Simple solution - play single player games. Dungeons will be yours to conquer, not a single soul will meddle and ruin your boss kills, chests will wait for you to decide their fate, an you will be entitled to steal anything if you choose so.There are no benefits for my style of play (solo):

Well if it makes you all feel any better shortly there will be an increase of players who think it is Morrowind 2.

Call of Duty is a very popular game and enjoyed by many but that isn't my cup of tea. RTS games aren't for everyone. MMO's are for everyone. Honestly just pop in a single player TES game, there's a number to choose form. Go download an RPG you haven't played before, maybe give a cult classic like Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines a try? (I'm low key obsessed with VtMB)
Point is, I'm sorry you're not having fun in this game, but the multiplayer aspect is a source of fun for many others.
