Why are so many players begging to be carried through Skyreach?

And then they come to GF and suck because Skyreach grind gives them 0 ingame XP.

Well if its someone's 10th character, that ain't going to affect anything in terms of play level.

Sure it is. You don't play a stamina DK like you do a magicka templar. Leveling up the traditional way gives you a chance to learn the nuances of the character and get a proper rotation down.

Skyreach is a way for lazy people to quickly level a character so they can then a week later say they are bored with the game because there is nothing for their fully leveled character to do.

@kargen27 Maybe we're playing a different game, but there's nothing I've encountered leveling 1-50 that requires a "rotation."

I use Skyreach because I occasionally want to level a new character as the meta shifts, to provide the most utility to my raid group. Leveled a magsorc before Homestead. Leveled a stamDK and a magblade for Morrowind. We raid 4 nights a week for 2-4 hours, so I don't generally have a ton of extra time to level the "traditional" way.

Although what I prefer to do is play through the starter zone and then the first 2 zones, doing almost all of the overland content (main story, main zone quests, delves, skyshards, lorebooks, guild quests). Usually that gets me somewhere around level 30 with a ton of skill points and Mages Guild around level 4-5. Then I grind Skyreach to 50, at which point I go back and finish up the main story quest and guild quests to get the skill points.

I don't like grinding ... but quest grinding is just as boring as mob grinding. I've played through the whole game, including Silver/Gold, multiple times. Don't really feel the need to do it over again every time I want to play with a new build.

You have bosses along the way you can try and thump. I usually don't assign my CPs until I hit 50 just to make thing a little more fun and don't upgrade my armor often. I like to take my time though and I know that isn't for everyone. As I said previously I don't mind people grinding when they actually participate in the grind. My beef is more with the players willing to just stand (or lay) there while someone else does the grind for them. I also have some disdain for the players that are willing to do the grinding while someone else benefits from doing nothing.

My last character I got to level 40 just gathering skyshards and doing quests that give a skill point then I went to the North part of Bangkorai and popped out the last 10 levels. Lots of fun things up there to kill just north of the Dolman and close enough you can get to the dolman and help with that when it pops. I don't mind at all when people grind I just want them to actually be a part of it instead of a spectator.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

You, sir, are an exception to the rule, as are others like you. I just wanted you to know that.
Power level to CP160 in a week:
Where is the end game? You just played it.
Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
    Where is new content? Sigh.
