vmsa idea

Here's a thought. Let's make a speedmode vma farm option where you just fight the bosses. This makes farming faster and let's be honest, the rest is just filler. This should alleviate some of the hurdles people have collecting gear.

Now, we don't want this abused, so let's also incorporate the following: make this only eligble to people who are currently on the weekly highscores for their class. This would open it up for people that have been farming vma long enough to have a reason to complain. seriously, after a few runs it's not that hard to get on the list.

Or

We can go back to nerfing the *** out of everything, nuking build diversity, or buffing sorcs.

Why are you guys trying so hard to not understand? The point of VMA grind is ZOS wanting to give players something to do since endgame is garbage and relies on farming=spending time rather than forcing players to get better.

    ZoS' logic is quantity>quality

So only 100 players per class would benefit from this? In magicka sorcerers, you have to be top of tops (500k+ points) or you are out of the first 100 spots?

What about the people that puts effort, dedication and time weekly to complete it (probably more than the top players because top players easily complete vMSA nowadays in 30-40 mins), but they are not good enough to make it inside the 100?

you need 545k to stay on the sorc boards
525k to stay on the night blade boards
templar and dk can usually stay on with 100k... sometimes i even see numbers like "450"... not 450k... just 4...5...0...

Last night i did my last vma run that i'm willing to do. Got leaderboard scores with my dk and templar.
The templar (my last run) was the story of my vma running career.
Flawless up until stage 9 boss when lag kicked in....
He teleported from the center on top of me... and i died. Apparently his necrotic blast went off. no charge, no tell, no ground aoe signal... but i died from a non existent blast.
and for my troubles... i a got nice... SHARPENED..... ice staff. Thanks, but no thanks.

And unless something drastically changes, i'm done for good.

You need a lot more than 450k to stay on the leaderboards as a templar (at least on PC EU) so I´ve no idea where you get that from. For sorc you need higher score than 545k to come on the top 100 as well.

    About OP´s idea: simple no.
But if they implemented a way to do each round seperatly as practice runs (aka training rounds where you can practice that stage without having to do the entire maelstrom) I would be all for that idea. You won´t get any reward or exp from it. Let´s say you have problem with stage 5 (rink of frozen blood), then you can run to bust at the entrence of maelstrom and teleport to that specific stage and practice that one

Can we get undaunted plunder from it or something, because as much as I enjoy running it hundreds of times with nothing to show, I'd kinda like to not blow all my potions. All I do is lose *** in VMA, if it weren't for console DCs and crashes I'd have already flawlessed all my characters. Most have flawless and are top 40 all time boards. And I still don't have a usable weapon. Why is this still a thing?...

Maybe its different from pc to console?

I'm on the console leader boards every week ... with 2 or 3 characters.
and you definitely don't need more than 450k for the templar. I think i had 450k after my first run with the templar and was still rank 75/100 at the end of the week.
And sorc i see it every week... 540k (give or take a few thousand) is rank 100 for vma leader board.
As for DK.... as long as you finish in one sitting, you pretty much get a leader spot.

Templars usually need at least 400k to stick on the weeklies, it's wildly inconsistent for DKs but lately it's been about 350-400k. A lot of players get their clears in just before leaderboards close.

So to not derail the thread I'll respond to the OP. I honestly don't like this idea mostly because I disagree with the adds just being filler. I die more often to adds then bosses, I could be in the minority here though. I'm not the best vMA runner so I sometimes rush myself to push for higher scores.

This. End game is a grind and the longer they can prolong it the longer the game lasts.

I myself haven't touched any other components of the game except VMA for about 2 weeks now. VMA is ESO for many players trying to get weapons.

This^ I'm on weekly leaderboard alllll week. That's because the roster is nearly compketely empty until the last day. And even if you don't don't get leaderboard weekly reward, that would give you 6 days to speed farm. Hell, even if you only gor 1-2 days a week, wouldnt that be enough? It's no token system, but wouldnt a 1 or 2 day easier grind be enough?

I leave the mDK for PvP and rolled a magsorc, that seems like VMA would be way easier as that class does everything the DK does better for PvE it seems.

I got ya. I spent so much time doing it on stam that movimg to placement, dodgerolling, blocking, side stepping aoe cones, etc that going magdk and chaining/reflecting/ignoring mechanics with a shield is just frustratingly difficult as I'm so unused to it.

I do my vma farms on stamina templar, they're worlds apart.

I get it, so its like the United States. The elite get everything handed to them and the rest get a smack in the mouth.

I'm impressed, you managed to turn a video game discussion into something political. Only morons can wield that power!
Grand Warlord HAXERUS. One of the last OG Mag DKs.
Mag DK through Thick and Thin.
Retired from Cyrodiil until they finally decide to fix the performance, which is probably never.

As for DK.... as long as you finish in one sitting, you pretty much get a leader spot.

Sorry, but this is not correct. DK's rank is finishing above 400k usually.

haha again.... maybe different from pc to console...

I watch these boards LITERALLY every week. I'm telling you... sometimes the board doesn't even fill up to 100 with the DK

I specifically remember someone getting a leaderboard spot... with something like a 380 score. Not 380k.... 3 hundred and 80 points total.
it was the last place score and it wasn't even rank 100...it was 90 something.

Well, I was talkinig about PC rankings in my first comment. So why you quoted me with the Console scores assuming I was talking about Console?

Again, I gave PC scores and I'm talking about PC (as it is always said on the forums: if the OP doesn't clarify it's a Console matter, then it's PC).

It's not hard to type (PC) in your signature... or did you run out of room listing all of your titles?
You had nothing in your first post about PC... and i won't assume people are talking about PC... just specify. It's pretty simple.

It's totally the opposite dude. 1.000 times have been mentioned that if someone doesn't clarify he/she is talking about Console, then it's PC. Is it your first day in these forums?

Really? I've never seen or heard anyone say that...
Cough **Pc Master race elitist** cough.

Really? It's like if I say that I have never seen someone spamming Wrecking Blow. ;)
