Yesterday morning my nephew was playing on my new ESO account character named Hel'Brechtpparently he came across a player on the starter island bleakrock who was max level and who had just picked a chest lock, he grabbed the items lime an ass and bragged about it to me later. I have the items in the bank, he seeks it was an elf with a bow and a flame AOE, if anyone hears a player complain about this please have them message me in game so i can return thier items, noting amazing just a couple blues... but is the principle of it.

The only way he could have grabbed the items, is if the other person backed off the chest. It is highly possible that whoever opened it intentionally didn't loot everything.

I only just started, apparently the person backed off, presumably to cleat inventory. My nephew (who can be an ass... but he is only 15) said tyre but followed him around shooting and dropping AOEs in anger... which my nephew laughed about. I just didn't want MY gamertag getting a bad rep lol. Thought i would try a stab in the dark to atleast attempt to find this person, probably won't happen but it's worth a shot. I am so new to ESO I didn't think one could even open a chest after someone else tagged it. But thank you for that but of info :-)

I wouldn't worry about it...it's happened to me more than a few times. To me, it's virtual stuff...they game will randomly generate more. I get the whole principle of the thing, but honestly that won't last long - you'll be wronged by other players enough that your so-called principles will go out the door.

This why you never share your account. Besides, its against the TOS to do so.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

We should frame this thread because, *tears rolling down cheeks*, it's... it's... refreshingly honest and not filled with hate.

Okay, I have to admit, I'm laughing. I just pictured an elf chasing a Khajiit screaming "You criminal scum!"

While that is somewhat troll of your nephew, the max rank should have been managing his inventory better. It is within the game mechanics to to loot chests others have opened. Everyone has paid for the game and has equal access to it.

I have played MMOs since Star Wars galaxies almost 20 years ago, I like to think there are mostly good gamers in the various communities out there and I like to try and reinforce that by not being a *** lol.

    I have wondered about that:

Accounts are non-transferable under all circumstances. You have sole liability for all activities on Your Account and/or under Your user names. You may be held liable for losses incurred by ZeniMax or other third parties due to someone else using Your Account, user name or password. Your Account or certain features of Your Account may be restricted, suspended, and/or terminated if someone else uses Your Account, user name or password to engage in activity that violates these Terms of Service or is otherwise improper or illegal. You agree to notify ZeniMax immediately of any unauthorized use of Your Account, user name, or password, or any other breach of security.

Other than the "non-transferable" part, it seems like there isn't any prohibition against letting someone play on your account, as long as it doesn't otherwise violate the TOS or the law. Letting someone play your game, on your equipment in your household on a temporary basis, doesn't seem likely to be considered a "transfer". Though if you gave out your username and password and someone were to play in different circumstances, it could probably be argued that is a "transfer". But by no means is this legal advice! :#

Very honorable and noble of you attempting to find the person to return the items. Most likely you will never run across the person again. Slap your nephew across the back of his head and never let him use your account again.
"And it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days. The fact that the word "monetized" exists points to the heart of the issue for us: We don't want the player to worry about which parts of the game to pay for - with our system, they get it all."

Most games let you share with one minor child, as children cannot enter legal contracts and the account will technically belong to the parent/guardian.
