I saved tons of those repair kits just doing writs every day have like 600+ of them I believe pretty easy to get about 1 per char a day

Now if it was an infinite use golden pot / repair kit then yeah I could see someone buying them

Since they don't have mandatory subscriptions any more, they encourage people to buy from the crown store. So what? They have to pay their employees some way.
It's better than having mandatory subscriptions. :|

The only really useful utility items in the crown store are the assistants. Everything else is either something you can already get via gold, or just cosmetic (usually as an alternative for something you can get via gold).

When I started playing, I was in a position where I couldn't afford a subscription -- the reason I could even begin to play was because they went subscriberless. I had enough to get the game, but that was it.

I'm in a better position now, though that means less play time. But I understand the need for balance when it comes to paying for the game.

Doesn't mean I'll agree with every method... crown crates still strike me as pretty skeevy... but hey, everyone should be able to buy food and pay the bills, right?

I've never used a single repair kit. If my armor was being held together by strings the cost at a merchant was still never over 2,000 gold.

    The math adds up though.
Cost is about 1.500 gold when fully depleted.
    X 10 =15,000
    X 100 = 150,000
Not saying buy repair kits from crown store but if you have them already it's worth using (when armour fully depleted)

Crown store consumables are for people with more money than sense.

Or for people who know the single greatest commodity, in the most limited quantity, is time.

Would I ever buy a crown version over my own crafted version right now? No. Because I already have superior stuff.

But if I started the game today brand new? Why not?

I am trading X portion of my real life time, to take earnings based on that time, to buy starting out crown items to make my ESO intro faster/easier.

Or I could take Y portion of my real life time, to level up and earn as I go within the game - because while it is a game, we're all still playing it using our own personal time.

So I fail to see the distinction between how I use my time being an issue. The REAL issue is you don't believe the cost associated is worth it - to you. Which is perfectly valid. Preaching your own sense of worth and value such that anyone else who disagrees must have "more money than sense" is perfect example of nanny state behavior.

I earned it, but you want to tell me how I should spend it.

But that's what I'd expect from someone that doesn't sew their own clothes. You don't right? Must have more money than sense because why pay more than double the actual cost, sometimes far greater order of magnitude, when you can just sew it yourself? I suspect you also lack sense because you use your money to purchase pre-harvested groceries from a store...gasp! Call the nanny police.

That stuff never bothers me . Selling is apart of ESO now . The bigger money grabs like housing irritate me . Almost $100 dollars for virtual house is pretty far fetched and most likely earns less money over the long haul but I'm guessing . I don't really know . I just don't like it but it's also fluff so I can't really complain either .

Simple Story. Eso+ is fair for a game like this.
    Every month 1500 Crowns
And all you really should have is the Banker and the 4/6 additinal Character slots
+ SOme Style items and a Mount you can have all of this in around a Year (12*1500 = 18 000 Crowns)
The Island you can buy if you buy 6 Month Eso+ after 1,5 Years in game

So Finally, yes the Prices are very expensive, but on the other hand ... The Crowns themself cost eso+ Members Nothing.

And btw we had a sale with 40% off at the Crowns a few weeks ago.

    "Every month 1500 Crowns"

    ^
    DIGITAL CURRENCY
It has no actual value and cannot be legally tendered to pay your debts.
You could call it 1500 [snip] and it would be worth as much.
A bumper sticker or a t-shirt has infinitely more value than 1500 crowns.

    This is true.

There's many things it can apply to but I'll stick to ESO...
The one thing I don't get is gold farmers (based on the time reason above).
Not the gold farmers who sell for Irl money but those who trade up 10 million +, to what end? Do writs on 12 characters a day sometimes on multiple accounts and for virtual gold you'll never spend?

This should be written like: "Chances are good the Crown Store and guild stores have what you need" to show new players that there is more than only one way to get consumable items.

Because on the screenshot it looks like the only source of repair kits in game is Crown Store. :/

Same with mount and bad space upgrade. It's nice that you can buy it from Crown Store, but still they should inform that you can also buy these items for gold.

I know that they need to make money somehow, but if they do a guide for new players they should include info about all possible ways to get items you want.

The whole point of ads is to make people buy things they don't need. Sadly.

Cant say how you do it, but as i was new to eso and i looked into the Crown Store my first though was "OMG Pay to play, Pay to win" Then i saw the Bank Slots and there i saw allready my for Gold Purchased Upgrade.
From this moment on i checked every Crown store item for availabilty in game.

And Btw, i never buy Ingame Items for money before i am sure that a game is no Pay to win.
(Sadly twice a Game was patched to pay to win AFTER i buyed extra stuff)

    So?

If new people want to buy stuff in crown store let them. When I was a newbie I new I was not going to spend a single euro for "starting packs". You can get everything you need in game. I don't see anything wrong with them advertising the crown store, there will be people who will rather pay for potions and food than getting them in game. It does not matter.
