I've never used a single repair kit. If my armor was being held together by strings the cost at a merchant was still never over 2,000 gold.

Or for people who know the single greatest commodity, in the most limited quantity, is time.
Would I ever buy a crown version over my own crafted version right now? No. Because I already have superior stuff.
But if I started the game today brand new? Why not?
I am trading X portion of my real life time, to take earnings based on that time, to buy starting out crown items to make my ESO intro faster/easier.
Or I could take Y portion of my real life time, to level up and earn as I go within the game - because while it is a game, we're all still playing it using our own personal time.
So I fail to see the distinction between how I use my time being an issue. The REAL issue is you don't believe the cost associated is worth it - to you. Which is perfectly valid. Preaching your own sense of worth and value such that anyone else who disagrees must have "more money than sense" is perfect example of nanny state behavior.
I earned it, but you want to tell me how I should spend it.
But that's what I'd expect from someone that doesn't sew their own clothes. You don't right? Must have more money than sense because why pay more than double the actual cost, sometimes far greater order of magnitude, when you can just sew it yourself? I suspect you also lack sense because you use your money to purchase pre-harvested groceries from a store...gasp! Call the nanny police.
