Soo. Now that Heavy attacks on lightning are staying the same, presumably because they can hit more enemies for up to n times the damage, My guess is that later on Lightning will become the Best AoE staff, Fire will become the best Single Target Staff, Ice... the best CC staff.

Can't wait to run Dungeons where swapping staves at bosses will actually be beneficial other than just 10 sec shaved off. Run a lightning for trash, Fire for Boss, and have the backbar be whatever supporting thing you want.

Now they just need to do the same with 2H (Aoe) and DW (Single Target).

Hasn't this been the case for a while?

Given that heavy attacks have been nerfed by a sizable amount, I'm not sure Lightning HA's are going to be all that effective on anything non-dk anymore. (Don't forgot about the nerf to lightning splash damage that landed earlier in the pts cycle)

Yep, Think it started with the change to Ancient Knowledge (Which was originally a heavy attack charge time reduction).

Lightning and resto staves deal steady damage throughout the animation. Which means they didn't really need their animations sped up. The reason they did this change was so there's less downtime. There is no downtime when using lighting or resto staves. It's more or less down to fun factor. It's not fun to hold down LMB for 3-4 seconds before you get any payoff. You don't have that issue with the staves that didn't get touched.

I mean, don't forget that each tick of the lightning staff and hitting nearby targets will likely increase the chance of Proc build going off. so increasing the rate at which they instance damage would be a huuuuge boon.

Yes. It's always been this way. The only the difference that changes is a passive the increase AoE or single target damage. All that did is we know roll with a lightning staff from bar for boss fights and baci bar an inferno staff for putting down fire blockade.

Stamblade main, don't use magicka too much.
