most versatile race and class

antarian
antarian
Hello everyone,
I just struggle with race pick because of racials. I wish there wont be any.

To be honest i dont want 2 dk or whatever because one race is better for stamina and another for magicka etc.

I dont have an issue playing all 5 classes , but I will rather make them "viable for any role" later than specialist in only one role.

Whats the most versatile race who can fit on playing tank, healer, dps, stamina or magicka etc.

If you can tell me also which class is basically jack of all trades it will be interesting information too :) (mostly prefer characters in pvp who dont doe on first hit, rather survive longer and do lesser damage or heal)

You can always pick your race without regard to traits, if you just like the look/theme/lore/whatever.

Only reason you'd need to min-max that far is if you were aiming for the absolute top-end content (veteran trials, etc). If you're not going to do that, pick whatever race you want.

my vote would be an imperial dragonknight in 5 pieces of heavy...

templars can kind of do a little bit of everything...again, armor yourself up, and it should be hard to kill you with a good purge. heal and shield at your disposal...

    Imperial

Little bit of everything. Health, Magica, Stam red diamond isint shinny but it sinit *** either

    Argonian

Magic, healing out, and healing in. 2nd best tank race, arguably 1 st best healer race, and decent to average DPS race for stam or magic

    Dunmer

Stam, magic, fire an elemental damage, plus resist fire damage passive

Best race for leveling a vampire with the twist fire passives, maybe the best magica DPS race for straight damage and a decent stamina setup can heal, tank, and DPS without giving up the world

I'm casting my vote towards Argonian Templars.

Argonian passives are sort of a hog-posh of effects, with the extra health being useful for all roles, the extra magic being useful for Magic DPS, Tanks and Healers, and healing done/received passive makes it a good Healer/Tank as well. Their stamina playstyle is lacking somewhat but at least they have some sustain in that department due to the Tri-stat potion passive

Templars aren't top of the line DPS or Tanks but their healing abilities are without question. As far as DPS goes, their stamina department is lacking but their Magic is far from underpowered. It's not as strong a Sorcerer but still not terrible either, giving it a happy medium. They also have Blazing Shield tanking, which is somewhat dull, IMO, but can be very effective in the right hands. Being able to return resources to teammates also makes them very useful in group play.

Overall, you get a decent Magic DPS, A decent tank, great healer and meh stamina DPS (which isn't really saying much as Stamina is sort of on the decline regardless of class/race as of late)

Yes I'd say argonians are a good shout apart from their stamina PVE DPS they excel at many roles and are useful for sure.

Thank you very much for your answers.

I have basically some imperial characters and that was why I asked....

Because basically i just thought... That extra health can be always good no matter what character you will have and stamina too. That was basically way how i choosed the character in past.

Btw. How red diamond works? Doest it work also on for example magical class based skills which are melee?

And what about proc rate on multi hitting abilities like templar spear ability or dualw wield ability? Just wonder about it because it should be able to add some healing, but wherever i read it ... It telling that it basically add nothing.

Dunmer Magblade or as a second option DK on magicka.

Because of the race bonuses and class skills you are able to play a NB as DD, tank or even healer in 4-men PvE content by just doing a gear swap. DK tanks are the nr. 1 raid tanks and on the same lvl as a mag Sorc when it comes to PvE dps.

Although NBs lack some dps in PvE (not that much many people think) at moment, they are still the most versatile class in my eyes, when it comes to general usage in all available content (PvE, PvP, vMA and even solo play).

Argonian because you are going to get healed a lot, either by youself or other players. In addition, it's good for tank and healer alike.

However you will have enough flexibility with any race if you have one preffered based on looks, personality, culture, etc.

Just don't pick Nightblade in case you want to bet on the class getting buffed in the future despite a history of conseccutive nerfs.

Wait... Is it also the best healer in PvP ? I heard that Argonians are double nerfed in Cyrodill as Healing is reduced by 50% in Cyro...
So their "Increases your healing done and received by 5%." is reduced to 2.5 % and potion passive "Whenever you drink a potion you are restored 12% of your Max Health, Magicka, and Stamina" is also reduced by half.

Is that true ? I would like to verify this information somewhere...

I play a Bosmer magplar healer and a Bosmer pet magsorc. I play Bosmer for roleplaying reasons rather than meta considerations. Though they are probably the shortest healer and wizard on the battlefield, they do very well.

That said, if you are looking to use one race for any/everything and DO factor in considerations beyond roleplaying, then Imperial is a good choice.

As far as a flexible class, I can testify that templar and sorc are very flexible. Sorc may have the edge, especially if looking at both mag and stam builds. I just don't know enough about DK & NB to comment. No interest in warden till the new wears off and the bugs are worked out.

I would probably say argonians are the most versatile race.

Also, templars are probably the most versatile class, but wardens show great promise regarding versatility too.

If you lean less towards healing, a dunmer dragonknight is also a good choice.

Imperials are the most versatile race.

Templars are the most versatile class.(you can choose to build for healing, or dps, or tanking and not completely and utterly suck in either)

That said, I play Bosmer because of looks and Nightblade or Templar because of play style so....

Well there really aren't any versatile races (Dunmer and Argonians come close though). I personally would say just ignore that it does give you an advantage but play the race you want to play as.

When it comes to class though, any class can fill any role if you are creative enough with the build. Even on Morrowind PTS my magblade is my top DPS.

Personally though I would say come Morrowind the Warden will be the most versatile class though purely from the perspective of having been built with filling whatever roll you want in mind more so than the vanilla classes. This does not mean the Warden is OP, it suffers from jack of all trades master of none syndrome BUT any mechanical difference or imbalance between classes can be overcome through skill, creativity, and mastery of your class.

I would add, for the days you just want to say F-U and nom nom on some poor critters face, add WW to this mix. Argonians have a passive for Poison resistance which helps a lot.
