Vampire Undeath Passive - scaling?

I'm sure its been answered before but I cant find a definitive & current answer. But how does the undeath passive scale?
Passive states :- Undeath II: (WHILE YOU HAVE VAMPIRISM STAGE 3 OR HIGHER) Reduces your damage taken by up to 33% based on your missing Health while you are below 50% Health.
so I assume when at 1% health the full 33% mitigation would have kicked in, it starts lower mitigation at 50% and builds up - but anyone got the math / threshold? Or know at least when the full 33% kicks in?
