You don't suppose this is, somehow, to that earlier thread where people were defending them, because they're high profile raiders, and should deserve a break, because purging those dozen players from the game would set the dominoes in motion, leading to the collapse of western civilization, do you?

Watch the video, it won't take anymore than that to convince you. Everyone else in Craglorn got it instantly. There is no way you could see that and interpret it any other way. Sorry this is definitely not an instance where ZoS was pushing someone around just because they felt like it.

A bunch of players dressed all in white, killing red guards, circling the body, then use, "torch", "kotow", and fire attacks. It was meant to advertise that there are certain groups that exists within ESO

It's a very hot topic that got shut down asap last time. I thought someone opened this thread late at night to purposely avoid Mods as long as possible! It'll get closed as soon as they see it.

Anyway, though people are going to get very riled up on here (which is fine and understandable) the situation itself happened weeks ago. More worrying are the after-effects imo because they unlike the event, these won't just dissipate.

I thought about making a thread on this but I knew it'd be risky, since Mods would close it as soon as people showed up and start commenting on the incident itself rather on the after effects.

Just use common sense here. No players will just get banned for wearing white anything. They had to have done something that supplements it, such as a lot of post/replies are saying they were also displaying racist remarks and tendencies. As with any professional organization (as Zen/ZOS, I'm certain), for them to take any action on anything, there are thorough reviews, discussion, and final approval from a head/supervisory personnel. ESO in-game and this forum are social media (minus the advertising/marketing adds) just like any other online outlet where masses of people from all kind of backgrounds have access to. Thus, in life, there are good people, bad people and questionable people, and we all have access via internet. You would think that such nonsense would not surface in a video game, but when the video game, such as ESO where everybody who have internet are privilege to, is a MMO, then the same type of white-hooded robe enthusiast and other hate type group members will also have access to.

I haven't seen any group zerg dressed in all white rolling around or any group displaying any racist action in-game, but there are plenty of racist and offensive comments/remarks being thrown around on zone text chats.. every time I am in-game playing. I'll bet to say it is occurring probably everyday in-game. I am glad that ZOS is taking notice and taking the appropriate actions. Yes, there would be those knuckleheads maybe joking here and there, but jokes can also go so far. We all do not have thick skin and there are people from all kind of backgrounds playing this game who may interpret something that appear to be funny and harmless to others, may be offended by it.

it is also interesting that there may be situation or circumstance where another is that despise of someone else that someone would fabricate something against another person/players just to get that someone banned. Otherwise, there plenty of trash-talks on zone text chats against another players; particularly those PvPers who are temporarily taking a break and messing around in PvE, but happen to come upon each other on zone chat and the bashing commences. So, it is not for us gamers to decide who should get banned. If there are comments or actions that are occurring in-game that any may feel offensive, then report them and let the good folks at ZOS review, and they will make the appropriate decision. I'm also glad ZOS has the monitors in-place on the forum here where they have taken appropriate actions.

Were you taking a jab at me :/ I'm not commenting on what happened. Only talking about the after-effect that has taken place on PS4 NA.

People whispering/reporting over only wearing white robes is crazy, but that's the unfortunate situation now after this event.
Nah, man. I wholeheartedly agree with you regarding hate-whispers you were receiving, and this shouldn't actually happen. What I do not agree with, however, is the approach trying to sneak the idea that "maybe nothing really happened" on NA server and that "it's just a white robe" etc.

If there's a terrorist attack in a city and a global social chain-reaction afterwards then maybe wearing almost identical clothes and style as the aggresors the very next day isn't the best idea? Or is it? Outfit is indirect way of social communication and attribution, and while it is utterly subjective, you can't prevent it from happening. This is again common sense and basic social skills.

After watching the video, it's difficult to understand how anyone could defend those people. It's painfully obvious what they were "roleplaying" and aiming at. No community needs groups like that, good players or not. What they hoped to achieve with that sad performance is also difficult to grasp. I'm happy they got banned.

My templar healer also often wears white robes, nothing wrong with the colour. It's all about context. And if bystanders now get harassed in some server because the colour of their gear - blame it on those people who made the racist performance.

    Shameful.

Not the way it was meant to come across if that's truly all you could see from that comment.

I'm trying to spread some new info regarding the situation, since we already all know what happened. As I happen to play on PS4 NA and am quite familiar with the situation, it makes sense for me to be the one to say this stuff rather than have another make it up. This all occured weeks ago so plenty more has happened now.

If they were randoms, there would be much less to say ofc. However, these players just happened to be quite huge on PS4 NA, so it has after effects.

The after-effect = wearing white robes is enough to draw negative attention toward yourself, and it will be this way for a looooong time.

There's no conspiracy and no personal remark here as similar situation may happen/apply to literally anyone. What I did was digging into why it is like that and how the reactions basing on player's outfit correlate with what is imprinted in social consciousness on reaction level - be it local or global. My personal opinion doesn't really matter in this situation and there's no need to go hostile. I also believe I supported your view on getting hate-whispers. If getting to the bottom of why is this possibly happening is somehow offensive to you then I'm sorry. :)

Oh. Well I didn't know about the PC EU incident! :open_mouth:

I think the PS4 NA incident was probably larger than what happened on PC EU but I wouldn't know.

Like 13+ ppl were permabanned, all of which were #1 leaderboard raiders. Spread across the entire endgame PvE community and most of the PvP community within a day and now it is also looked down upon to wear white robes.

No way PC EU was bigger.

    Totally fine! Np at all.

After the event, anything that remotely mimics it is subject to scrutiny.

This includes a simple white robe. It sounds kind of much, but it is happening now :disappointed: Another reason is because I use the Black Hand Robe, which happens to be what some of them used.

Just how it is I guess. You do not have to do anything else "wrong" so to speak. However, I'm not going to change my in-game character's costume because of this type of reasoning.

Imagine if I used the Malacath's Wrathful Flame momento while in Craglorn and wearing my robe. I would face a very real chance of loosing my account. All it's take is one dude recording a short vid, sending it in, and saying it reminded him of the past event.
