How to leave a note for your friends in their primary residence:

jk... you can't as of now. but i created this thread because an item should be created that lets you do this (call it a Bulletin Board or Guest Book, it can be a crown store item or whatever). Let me know if you agree

I don't think this item would cause any problems since home owners can control their guests' permissions, and since the only people that can enter your home must be on your friends list or one of your guild rosters. That doesn't leave too much room for abuse. And it should say who the message is from automatically. It can resemble the little book at the undaunted site, only with a custom message. I just figured it would be a good item that a lot of people would want, and it will help people visit other people's houses more often (and their own). Every time i visit a friends house i wish i could leave something letting them know i was there

The issue of a guest book or a log of who has visited has been raised before and was much wanted yes.

Personally khajiit also wants a 'permit all' option in the permissions system.

It is a little difficult to run a tavern yes when all of the customers must be pre-approved. Also part of the joy of housing is sometimes just finding someone you did not expect asleep on your floor.

While we are about it this one really wishes for the option to set a secondary residence (or more).

Housing is great but this one just finds a few real issues with the permission system which greatly limit the functionality and purpose of housing yes.

There are three permission settings. By default it says visitors allowed, that means anyone can enter the house if they can port to it, this includes guild rosters, friend lists and porting to someone already in the instance. You can also ban visitors in general except for guests on the allowed list where you can add guilds or individuals and allow everyone except a ban list (where you can ban guilds or individuals).

I'm okay with that though I don't want something that tracks people who don't want to be tracked. So a guest book is okay but a guest log wouldn't be cool.

I wish you could choose which house someone owns you want to visit. People have multiple houses and it sucks when you can't access the non primary ones. There should be a drop down menu.

Additionally khajiit would say that if the system were changed somehow so you could access a list of all open homes in an area, or the like, then it greatly expands the world in which you may explore.

This one she walks up to her front door and she does not know that it also may be the front door of many others.

If this one she knew this then a whole world of taverns and schools and theatres may be at the tips of her paws.

Any such list would of course be very long and need to be managed in some way.

Perhaps this one is still remembering too fondly the housing system in a previous life in Middle Earth yes but that was a great system for just calling on neighbours and seeing what others were doing and being able to just call in on people yes.

Another random thought - it is the morning for such thoughts yes.

A person must be on your friends list or in your guild list yes. Why is it not possible to have the option of travelling to the house, if permitted, from chat or a whisper?

This one often talks to someone before visiting their home and drinking their beer. It would be much quicker to travel from the chat name rather than rooting around in a long guild or friends list to try and find them.

Yeah, it would need to have an auto-signature that shows the name in order to prevent abuse, like you said.

Great idea! Thumbs up! It also will be interesting if this feature will be implemented through furniture item, something like "Großbuch" in which you can live a note.

There is a way it's under permission, the option is all houses.
