Armor style change please read Zos

So as it stands in the game in order to be on par with everyone else at end game level we all need to run the same builds on our respective classes. This creates an army of clones. We look like an army of storm troopers. At this point zos I think I speak for everyone when I say please please give us some way to change the appearance of all armor dropped. There are so many beautiful sets and many people love to match. At end game meta got me to perform on the same level as all other end game players I have to run some ugly monster helm some ugly shoulder and drop sets that don't remotely match my favorite styles of armor I took the time to learn. I don't care how you do it. I don't care what it costs but please create some way for us to alter our armor aside from costumes. I want to look like a badass rogue. Que dark brotherhood armor style. Well too bad. I have to wear a horribly mismatched set of gear that looks crazier than Johnny Depp in Alice in wonderland. So please please please create way for the creative player to set thier looks apart and look the way they want. If costumes can hide these sets includIng monster sets you can't tell me it breaks the game to want to change our appearance for armor.

Agree, with a big proviso... bring back the primacy of crafted sets. That'll be a good step towards differentiating people's appearances again.

I like the idea of having a costume set for whatever style you have mastered, that way doesn't matter what armor you are using, you can equip whatever armor pieces you want for looks. If they made it so that you could do crafted costumes piece by piece?

Also i think motifs would sell much better too if people could actually use them to customize the way their character looks

as long as you need to have learned the motif you might switch into i don't see a disadvantage to zos tbh

Of course i would expand that to weapons and weapon dyes

the only unique capability that crafted sets can give you currently is style control, style choice...

after the massive uptick in drop set potency with 1T (jewels for all 5pc, weapons for all 5pc, standardized and regular drops, all scale to 160, etc) you dont need to take the last bit of capacity that crafted has all its own away.

i gotta admire the courage tho - get handed the house with 1t drop set upgrades and then ask for the last bit that crafted has left too.

I'm fine with changing it, but why hate on costumes? Is it because of their designs v motif designs, or do you not like how they are implemented? What if, hypothetically, I told you ZOS is making costumes that are essentially full body motifs (like an ebon costume, akaviri, minotaur, etc.)? Would that fix your problem?

I dont agree with monster helms and arena sets but with all the others I do agree. Make it so that you need level 50 in blacksmithing and need ten of the style material and some thing else so that crafters can make some money off of it too. Lets say you also need item X which you can get as a reward for completing master writs or doing the daily crafting writs make them even bound and then crafters can finnaly make some money

And the (in my opinion of course) best idea so far would be the one with the "Transformation Stones" here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/340849/two-ideas-how-to-introduce-any-gear-in-any-style-functionality-into-eso-transmog/p1

So the restrictions are there to make you less effective? Hooray, crafted sets can look cool. Too bad even the ones that are useful still need to have other sets to make you competitive. It's a bit selfish to deny most of the community something that would have zero effect on you.

Crafted sets that actually sell are only selling certain pieces, and that would not change if a transmogrification ability was added. The amount of crafted gear sales would not change. People are still going to buy the same pieces no matter what. Crafted helm and shoulders are always going to be as worthless as they are now, no matter what they look like.

sooo maybe make craft set great again? this post only showing crafted sets are not worth to be use except just style for RP?
also its jsut stupid how many drop sets are very ugly for many players and then they are forced to use costume if they dont want or they want to go in other armor style because he have learned event full motif, your opinion about converting dropped geat style is pathetic

    This is almost a must.

Either they need to give us a way to use some of these motifs (which would up the desire for more motifs) or they need to create an appearance tab so that we can customize our appearance fully. Basically, like costumes except one slot for each armor slot and whatever we put in there overrides the appearance of the item but has no effect on stats, etc.

See I want even monster helms and shoulder to be changed as well. Costumes already hide them so it's not like it would make a difference. Because as someone said monster sets will always be part of end game sets and used instead of crafted shoulders and helms. So being able to alter them would encourage different appearances. This is an mmo after all. It's supposed to encourage diversity

is it not more selfish to get tons of benefits and upticks and then begrudge the ones lessened by those gains a little more before you take the last few crumbs off their plate?

"Hey we got the steak and the loaded potato and the wine and the garlic bread all for us now... hey wait... why leave them the garnish. Selfish SOB wanting to keep the garnish to themselves. go get it too!!! teel them later on maybe we will try and send them some scraps once we got it all."
