I just don't like the biased poll.
To be honest, I'd make a few of my characters vamps for the benefits if they did not turn white and sickly (got an army of Khajiit in my account).

I think the lore-friendly solution would be for well-fed vamps to not show any signs at all of vampirism, whilst looking more like a bloodfiend the more time passes since they fed, at least whilst in cities. That would also help with immersion for RPers.

For the RP crowd (who don't want to RP as a vampire) that likes to also play the game on the side (for whom it might be convenient to be a vampire), I agree, the option to totally hide the vampirism would be ideal. If I were being greedy, I'd ask for both. It shouldn't be so hard to allow us to each have a "birthday suit" skin option that basically hides all status effects and returns our character to their default skin.

Totally unbiased poll you got there OP.

You chose to become a vampire knowing full well what would come with it. The curse is the visual changes. Otherwise there is no real downside. Hasnt been since the early days when enough of you cried about how bad fire was for you. Now you want to be able to walk around looking like a normal mortal while basking in the glory that is the powers of vampirism. Sorry. But No. No one forced you to look like you do. You chose it.

If you do, I want you to do me one small favor: Log in, feed up to stage 1, then look at your tooltip, and tell me what it says.

And have to spam mist form all those times to get back to my beloved stsge 4... no chance in hell. I got irked when the halloween drink took me to stage 3.

If you want to make a point do the work yourself then tell us about it. My four master vamps are staying at stage 4.

Yes, if pay/ or love to earn a mortal skin disguise so i could hide my vamparism and help with rp (vampires would hide among mortals) and so i can enjoy not having my tatoos bleached and not looking overall ugly
There are a couple of lore points that I feel are pertinent.

Firstly, vampires have an affinity for magic, and illusion magic is common. Common enough that it is not inconceivable that a vampire would be able to glamour themselves to look human. There are plenty of quests, in this game and others, where characters use illusion magic to disguise themselves.

Secondly, some strains of vampire (well, Cyrodiilic at least) are " Indistinguishable from the living if well-fed". This at least is justification of having no visible traits of vampirism when well-fed. If looking like a fresh-dug corpse is indeed "punishment" for choosing to be a vampire, at least during the stage when you garner no benefit from your vampirism, you shouldn't have to look like one.

My sources for these comments? UESP, obviously.

It does occur to me that perhaps the real reason why people don't want others to hide their vampirism for any reason at all, no matter how valid, is that vampires were so brokenly OP for so long that they're afraid of them making a resurgence. Well, in that case, if vampires become the new meta, just stack fire damage in pvp... obviously.

Wait, you want to play the way -you- want and not be beholden to the opinions and playstyles of others? Well, welcome to the OP's point of view. Choices you make for the pve or pvp life of your character ONLY intersect with RP when it comes to vampirism. Why should RPers have to make a "pve/pvp" and an RP version of the same character, just because of a simple cosmetic effect? It's not so simple to "just level more characters" when you spend half your game time roleplaying.

Your fire resist goes to normal.

Your cost discount also goes to zero.

Your health regen stays at 100%.

In short, you're now, effectively, a non-vampire at Stage 1. It is, strictly, a cosmetic choice now, if you don't have any abilities slotted.

A vampire is an animated corpse. You want to be a vampire, there's a trade-off, buddy. You're gonna look like a corpse, because that's what you are.

Glittery beautiful vampires are stupid Hollywood inventions. So are bleeding vampires -- they're stone dead, so by definition their hearts don't pump and the stuff in their veins is dust. Driving a stake through a vampire's chest doesn't kill a vampire, it just NAILS HIM TO THE GROUND so he can't get around. The only way to permanently stop a vampire is to cut off its head, stuff the mouth with garlic and bury the head separately from the body.

My understanding is that in ESO lore a vampire can also be cured. So -- if you really want to look like your old self, take the cure.

I'm of the "vampires should look sick and corpselike" school.

The only thing worse than a vampire is a CRYBABY vampire.
"Nothing by which all human passion and hope and folly can be mirrored and then proved ever was just a game."
    -- William Faulkner.
