Snipe isn't the problem...weaving just that and medium attacks puts you over 10k.

you can easily do over 20k with just a bow build. (theres one on tamriel foundry that hit 40k)

The problem is when people just come in and light attack everything with a bow and end up doing sub 5k dps.

No, fair snipe spammers (and honestly most only-bow users in general) , you are not a good dps. In the time that you're taking to back up , fire, and wait for your snipe to hit, a proper dps is cleaning house.

Your snipe hits hard, but it's not fast enough.

Bow might not be the best, but it is more than viable. My bow build pulls self sustained 24-27k (single target) dps which is more than fine for dungeons. So like with anything it really depends on player... I do agree bow needs some love tho.

Problem is most only use snipe and no dots or LA weaving whatsoever..just slowly snipe...snipe...snipe..

EDIT: just remembered few fun encounters in random vet dungeons...
1) First there was this Bowplar, who had the weirdest (boss) rotation like ever: LA - LA - jesus beam - spray - spray - snipe - stand still thinking what to do next - jesus beam - LA - LA...and continued like that more or less until we rest killed the boss (FG1)
2) This NB used only bow light attacks because he/she thought they were faster and that way resources wasn't an issue... Well might be true...

I have a healer and tank and nothing more disheartening in a vet dungeon to get a bow build for a dps

absolutely this. I ran a sniper build for a while in pvp. (wasn't great, but was fun to play), so i understand why people might wanna run bow in dungeons. It's just not ideal at all in that situation unfortunately

seems like theres alot of players Qing up for vet dung. when they should be sticking to the norm, especially nowadays due to the fact that this game is stuffed with a crapton of self proclamed elitists. when i started playing this game even if you did suck alot of players would actually try to help you out with pointers n such( ya i know right, hard to believe) Ive gotten through every vet dung. rocking a stamblade with bow and 2 hand...just cuz T

Stamina players really need the bow skills and passives looked at. As it it I'm using my bow bar for caltrops, endless hail and to proc grim focus when the meleee dps zone is a little too hot. The drop in damage is too significant.

Would be nice to have some of the the pew, pew, sandwich options of the mag players.

There's just as much, if not more, of an issue with inexperienced or frankly bad players refusing to listen to any kind of advice/help given.

I dont understand some players that come to these forums or those pug groups complaining about something they have no idea about only because their favorite streamer has not yet told them about its viability. Something akin to complains about pet sorcs before they went from ok to op.

Perhaps some players are just playing a video game to have a little fun and don't actually wish to study for a PhD in ESO builds.

Casuals are what keeps this game from shutting down tomorrow. As much as things like this might irritate those with a more dedicated and scientific attitude, were it not for the masses of people just playing for a good time this game would be on life support or dead already. Yes, it's frustrating but also more of a challenge to complete the dungeon. Variety is the spice of life

I agree... actually I love these players. I usually tank and yes it takes forever to kill the easiest boss but when we kill it, they are so happy, makes me remember why one plays games.

In the other hand I will never understand those players that rush through the dungeon, pulling and skipping everything ahead of the tank. Why the hell do they play? Those are the players that put me off when I queue.

This right here is why I never do dungeons...I'd love to "play as I want" but way too many number crunching know-it-alls for my taste. There was a time in MMOs where we just played to complete the dungeons and enjoyed it along the way. Now it's rush rush rush, your not doing enough leet DPS, you're not doing the correct rotation for that extra 2k dps. It's ridiculous and that's why I save my grouping for PVP..

Crappy attitude man, there are lot of weak dual bow users, but there are also a lot of highly skilled dual bow users that pull 40k+, a guildie of mine does exactly that in any dungeon.

In random dungeons I tend to meet the first kind and it makes it hard, but they gotta learn somewhere right. Treat it as a challenge instead of the usual easy veteran dungeon, which lets be honest, most don't feel like veteran or hard mode anymore.

I prefer bows in any genre I play. My pops is an archer, I learned as soon as I could draw the string of a 25lbs longbow. Definitely noticed how weak the bow skills are in ESO but honestly I don't care. I enjoy the long range sneak attacks and stacking DoT's from other NB skills (albeit weak also).

While it is rare, some bow DPS buids can perform. Maybe not high enough for some vet dungeons, definitely not enough for trials, but with skill and know how a bow build can do a decent job.
