Yeah, the quest is in my logbook and it's been there since I've returned to the game, but I literally have no memory of going to the Gold Coast (but I've been there).IronCrystal wrote: »I'm not sure if these is a way to remove this, but you only obtain it by completing the first quest in the dark brotherhood. So you must have started it at one point :P
For the life of me, I have no recollection of ever going to the Gold Coast to pick up a quest for the DB.
Now, every time I crouch and try to pickpocket, the idiotic, annoying, no-way-to-turn-it-off sound of the "Blade of Woe" and help tips constantly appear onscreen.
Is there a way to remove this? I have no intention of completing the DB line.
You dont go to Gold Coast to get it. You talk to a chick who appears in EVERY Thieves Outpost until you finally take her quest.
Meanwhile, I wish you didn't get the Thieves Guild skill line just by entering Abah's Landing. You should at least have to start the TG questline.

Not only that, but you also get the line if you even touch a TG chest in open world. How many new players come across these things for the first time and think, "What is this?" and the moment they touch it, BOOM, TG skill line added.
The presence of the TG skill line on your character is the game's indicator of your membership in the Thieves Guild. You shouldn't magically join the Thieves Guild just by entering a city. You also shouldn't magically join the Thieves Guild just by opening a random box, particularly since you aren't even supposed to be able to open the boxes unless you are a member.Kiralyn2000 wrote: »Which is perfectly fine, from both an RP and a "realism" point of view - there's no rational reason why (without the TG DLC/skill line) that you mystically can't open a box. And all the TG line/touching a box gives you is exactly that - the ability to open a box. Your character's morality & choices determine that he doesn't take anything from that box, or be a thief (i.e, add skill points to the TG skill line). Not only that, but you also get the line if you even touch a TG chest in open world. Every good person has the ability to be a thief. It's their choices that make them not be one.
(I mean, heck - you can pick the lock on a treasure chest, "steal" owned goods, and fence items in an Outlaws Den without the TG skill line, so clearly the skill line itself doesn't make you a thief or not.)
