Moondancer Sharpened destro staffs drop chance, RNG a myth?

After running nMoL over 20 times recently on console past month (buggy) not 1 single destro sharpened staff of Moondancer has dropped for anyone, unless they kept it secret.

Many sharpened resto, sharpened infernos of twilight, Alkosh etc.

20 runs minimum x 7 chests (140) for 12ppl = 1680 not including the final chest, many have the CP chest passive too.

1680 chests and not 1 sharpened moon that is crazy (not include final boss chest)

Also the actual lightning/fire moon staffs virtually don't drop even in bad trait but they drop many lightning/fire of Alkosh, twilight and lunar coincidence? I think not RNG is a myth.
It is all pre determined imo.

To put into perspective there's been at least 30 sharpened restos of moondancer.
That is not RNG.

20 runs is definitely not enough. With the loot manager addon and probably 150ish runs I've seen like 3 sharpened staves and 1 sword

Over 1680 chests add boss chest 240 (20x12) =
1920 chests.

1920 chests that is nuts.

And I said minimum, it's been more like 25 runs total.
That's is enough.

I personally think that RNG is bugged, but the nature of RNG makes that impossible to prove.

I just re read your post 150 runs with 12 people and only 3 sharpened destros? Wtf?

Try running vma a couple hundred times and having nothing to show for it. Average run takes me 40-60 minutes depending on if I'm watching Netflix or not so assuming every run is about 50 minutes, that would be ~166 hours of vma for nothing. Imagine working a job you hate for 4 weeks for free.

I know the VMA grind I've been there and done it.

What I'm talking about is the odds.

2000 chests with no sharpened stafffs, that's not RNG.

I know ppl go insane in VMA after 100-200 runs all I'm saying is the RNG is a lie.

I have been running VMOL multiple times a week for about a year now. I have personally got 2 of these bad boys (sold one to a guildie), but I have never seen a sharp moondancer sword drop in any run I have been in, and only seen one sharp lighting staff (which I paid a lot for). I could give a sharp moondancer resto to everyone in my raid. Yep, the RNG sucks.

I have a sharpened moon sword and why will the set be trash in a few months?

I mainly want the staffs cus the look sweet.

It'll likely be same setup as I usual but with enchants for recovery/reduced cost.

RNG is their safety valve so people don't scream about content. From a pve standpoint, if you had bis gear, what would there be to do. It sucks but that's my theory.

RNG is weighted depending on the item, trait, and also where it can drop, etc... I very much doubt that all drops/traits have an even chance of dropping.

I got my sharpened inferno from intermediate chest in a room before last boss, and sharpened lighting dropped from chest after defeating last boss. Both dropped on normal MoL.

I also had resto and ice staves in sharpened, but deconstructed them.

Our group was raiding vMOL for past 9 months usually 2-3 times a week (or more as a guest). During the time we had exactly four drops of this:

The amount of vMOL runs counts in hundreds if not thousands and I'm not even taking numerous nMOL farm-runs into account.

This may be an example of how they "balance" the rng statistics... A few weeks ago I was in a pug nMoL farm run, and 1 guy got TWO sharp moondancer inferno staves - 1 from a trash mob and 1 from Rakkhat's chest. Saw it with my own eyes via grouploot.

He kept them both, even with offers from group members of 1.5 mil...

Have cleared vMoL countless times and never got one until one week I got 2 Sharpened Moondancer inferno staves. Still waiting on the sharpened lightning stave.

True rng is not weighted. If you think this loot system is not weighted, you have not done much reading of the threads that prove it.

It is RNG, but the odds are not even, some items are more common than others, and some traits more common than other.

This was proven when ZoS said they were normalising drops in vMA so resto staves drop rate was reduced. Ie some items had a higher chance than others to drop.

Oh it's absolutely not true rng. I don't doubt that it's random, but certainly only based on criteria that zos plugs in to the equation.

I've ran vMoL hundreds of times with my raid group. I've also ran nMoL a lot as well.

Last month, Rakkhat dropped for me a sharpened Moondancer Lighting staff. A few weeks later, my guild leader gave me a sharpened Moondancer Inferno staff he also received from Rakkhat.

This process took over 8 months of grinding. It is f***ing ridiculous. No other way to put it. For me the vMA grind was not as bad ("only" took a few hundred runs for sharpened Inferno/Lightning vMA staves)

Do not attempt this grind.

If you really want to have that 4-piece spell damage bonus I would recommend waiting for Morrowind at this point to farm, since there will be a set that has the exact same 2/3/4 piece bonuses as Moondancer and will probably look really cool.

Approx
15% each resto/bow/shield (45%);
7% each 1h (28%)
5% each 2H (30%)

Rough est., don't have the exact numbers in front of me.

Is 129 SD worth 8 months? I doubt though. This is the thing ZOS doesn't see. RNG keeps people grinding, yes, but if the drop rates are so abysmal people will just stop doing the content altogether and in the worst case quit the game. It says something I was absolutely overjoyed when I got my vMA Inferno. It was charged and the first stave I ever saw in there.

Do the content for fun / challenge and the armor drops.
Treat the weapon drops as an lottery ticket who got bundled.
You see this very well in the price of the overland sets
Purple necropotente jewelry is 6-7K chest who is most expensive armor part is 30, staff is 400K.
