If i played during the original beta, how do i log into the same account thro steam?

I played way back during the beta's, logged in once or twice, that weekend they gave the free pets,welcome beta testers event i think? monkey i think it was, and havent had a chance to play again, so i just bought it on steam but its never prompting me to log in anywhere. it asks for server area na or eu etc, then takes me to character creation area. I had 2 characters which werent real far, but did want to keep that special pet from the beta. If i log out of the character creation back to menu, it has a login in button, but it just takes me back to the character creation menu, never prompts for login info, doesnt have an option to select use eso login, nada. any help would be greatly appreciated

✭✭✭✭✭Try bypassing the Auto Login feature of Steam.
Which means using a shortcut to the ESO64.EXE in the ZOS directory where Steam has it's game files. That should let you put in your user name and password from before. Although i think there was a password reset at some point, so you may have to deal with that.
Once you get in the game, you should be able to get in from Steam just fine, but since Steam does not really offer anything for the game, I would just use the Shortcut except on patch days.Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

deyjasagus✭✭✭Try bypassing the Auto Login feature of Steam.
Anyone that purchased ESO after November 1st of 2016 will not have the ability to bypass steam to launch the game. If they use anything other than the Steam version of the launcher they will get an error saying account not valid when inputting their username and password.
How do I know this? I purchased it during the free trial weekend that was available after that and, as per ZOS and Steam support, they made changes that prevent bypassing the launcher. I spent months going back and forth between both companies to try and get around this and was advised flat out this is not a possibility.

Thornriley_ESOSoul Shrivenoddly, after i gave up and created a new character, it added in the beta pet, so it somehow linked to my original eso account, but i lost the characters id created, not a big deal only barely got to play after beta ended anyway, but i did get my monkey. thanks for the info from ya'll, i do appreciate the time and help.0
