Poll: How much do you care about lore 385 votes

I care a lot. Don't add anything new to the game unless it has been in a previous game, or mentioned in a lore book.

I care somewhat. I prefer they stick with lore, but would forgive them for adding something awesome so long as they can provide a reasonable explanation for it.

Eh, I'm in the situation that I really like the setting of this game, you know the magick and types of enemies I'm fighting and the visual look of the game.

If you are referring to details of the lore then I couldn't care less, but I wouldn't want them adding obvious game breaking features (like guns or something).

I would fall somewhere between 'somewhat' and 'a lot', I'm certainly no UESP editor but the secondary explanation for 'somewhat' doesn't really fit my feelings on it.

i used to REALLY care about the lore, and, well, to be honest i think allot of people only use it as an excuse to get something they want. i mean eso doesn't really follow the lore in eso.

i mean that lore Master guy is really Great at his work in eso [and i love that guy, he awesome] and mostly eso is almost really close to the lore but.
they did not follow his work in my opinion, and they kinda dropped the ball in lore terms.

The lore for Elder Scrolls is very interesting, fleshed out and at points amazing. I'm glad I read stuff on it. It also allows me to poke holes and question why things don't make sense lore-wise.

Poll is not great. I care a lot about lore but I also know that they're supposed to add new things all the time, not just rehash old things. It needs to be tied to and not contradictory with the old data, but you can't have a healthy game series that doesn't continuously add new worldbuilding. I do not "care somewhat" just because I'm not stuck in a static, calcified fantasy that's inured to change.

TES is a very, very lore heavy series, with a ton of established info, so yeah it's important.

I'm sure there are some things that aren't already mentioned in other games/lore books in existence in the ES universe, so I picked the second option. I don't think ES world creators have mentioned every single thing that exists, the world is still being explored (cringe omg)

Needs more shirtless options though, can't very well berserker mode in full plate. Gimme that loincloth costume already, something along the lines of Tsun from Skyrim. For female characters also, berserker rage doesn't discriminate >_<

You lack an answer - "I do care for the lore, but I do not mind if this game expands it." I don't mind new additions, because let's face it, we never explored every corner of our beloved gameworld. No one can claim, there's nothing new to find. So if they add stuff I am totally fine. While I appreciate is that they try to keep in line the many details from the other games.
"Why did I follow him...? I don't know. Why do things happen as they do in dreams? All I know is that, when he beckoned... I had to follow him. From that moment, we traveled together, East. Always... into the East."

I'm not crazy particular over it but it there's not decent lore that had some adherence to by the developers, I can't be bothered with it. At the same time, I don't want to hear how no one goes to the toilet because its not in the lore. People can take things too far.

If my wife had two tires and a seat, she'd be a bike.

Games aren't arcade quarter vaccums anymore. We've made so much progress in crafting stories and worlds that make us feel such strong emotion that having fun is just a small part of the experience.

    That's why lore is important.

The first and second options aren't mutually exclusive. I care a lot about prior lore (it's the main reason I play the game), but how stale would the franchise be if nothing new was added? ESO has added a lot new lore, some of it good, some of it bad. As long as it makes sense within the context of the setting and doesn't contradict prior lore in a huge way, I don't mind at all.

In any actual Elder Scrolls game, meaning created published w/e by bethesda I care a lot about lore, its one of the most important facets. In ESO i care a bit less, its still important, but I give the devs a little more creative leeway.
