Questions about Magicka Nightblade [PvE]

Hello dear all,

I'm CP 482 Magicka Nightblade. I'm not really *really* into PvP. It is fun sometimes but I am not aiming for full PvP. My question(s) is/are more DMG based.
I have the set of Magnus 3 and Julianos 5. All gold and Glyphed with magicka. My max Magicka is 41k and HP is 18k (Buffed).

My stats:
Magicka: 41k
HP: 18k
Stamina: 10k
Critical Chance: 78%
Spell Damage: 2432 (unbuffed) - 2893 (buffed).

CP Points:
100 Elemental Damage
45 Elfborn
10 Staff Expert

100 Elemental Defender
Some in Hardy

100 Magician
rest on Arcanist

My questions is: With all those stats and gear. Am I in the right direction for doing great in PvE? Am I too weak? I mean, IMO, I do great DPS. I don't focus on PvP so I could be weak with duelling and stuff. But is there any "Set" that is better from what I have right now?

Any feedback and help would be appreciated.

Even though most people got hyped for Burning Spellweave+Ilambris/Grothdar I'm getting better results with good classical Scathing Mage+Moondancer+Kena. Please keep in mind that doing a gear update now doesn't make much sense with the forthcoming fundamental changes to sustain/balance in 3.0.x patch in June.

scatling is from DLC dungeon, so harder to farm for casuals, bsw is easier to farm CoA

Yes, all is fine (but there is still no info about your penetration stats tho..)
Just have two bars: 1 for single-target and 2 for aoe, and everything will be OK.

Necropotence is still the best set if you want the best dmg.
But I would wait until the patch drops.

It's not 2015 anymore - you can do ICP on bare-bone character with crafted gear in mid-PUG quite easily.

Spinner's more PvP-fronted. With the forthcoming changes to CP you'll have enough stats to invest into Spell Erosion passive not to bother with wasting 5pcs slot for this set anymore.

Necropotence. On magNB. That's a good one - LOL. Doltia's Gaming withdrawal syndrome.

(2 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka

(3 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka

(4 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka

(5 items) While you have pets active, increase Max Magicka by 4000

For Necropotence. But where do I see that I would make more damage? Sorry for this dump question I'm not that good with Sets. I once got this set Crafted by a friend and actually never did some changes.

All nightblades have the option of a combat pet. "Summon Shade" works with Necro gear

Yes. Which is ultra-bad and not recommended by anyone except some really bad players. Or Doltia.

Agreed, tbh if i had to make a list of pretty useless NB abilities this would be at the top of it, but if it wasn't a poor ability then + ~380 spell damage would make a tempting build to try out.

Your gear is fine, PvE is all mechanic based you can run vMA in your gear I ran and completed several times in TBS 5 piece, 3 piece willpower, 1 Piece Kena, 2 Piece Turogs. Other than the jewelry and Kena one piece its completely craftable. Hell I ran vMA with 100 points in blessed as my Magblade is a healer, (SPC to heal) you yes you can comepete with your gear. Trials guilds may moan about your DPS numbers but can't ignore your group passives and DOT heals you provide.

Are we talking PvE or PvP?

Because I sure as hell am Enjoying the HELL out of the shadows teleport morph on my NBs. It's so much fun in PVP, but then again 99% of streamlined people have no F-ing clue bout the game's different options.

Necro is good for the 4 pc bonus in your case. The 5 pc for now is only relevant to sorcerers when using pets. The more magicka you have the more damage you can do effectively. It's not always about how much spell damage you have. Also with sorcerer pet builds the pets damage is scaled off of how much max magicka you have. I understand this is kinda irrelevant to you being nightblade but just some info :)

So more Magicka is More Damage? I don't understand this system. Could you please provide me some more information how this works? I would like to follow a guide too if you have a link. I'm really curious about this system.

Well i used scathing in pve and then tried out necropotence and it's a big increase in dmg/shield strength and a decrease of enemy dmg (in solo or 4 man dungeons)

Since Assasins Will is absolute useless and a dmg loss in raids I have a free skill slot anyways so...

exactly this, summon shade is a pretty weak pet doing weak dmg, but the 5 piece of necropotence set and also the teleport feature is really awesome

I am talking about PVE
If you run trials it's all about sustained dmg and Assasins will is weaker than 2 force pulse and the 8% overall dmg bonus you get from your healer.
The 2 shades are weak but with necropotence you get the 5th bonus (~7000 magicka buffed or ~650 spell dmg for skills)
Especially in vMoL HM you could spam more force pulses cause your shield is bigger.
In vMA it's brain afk mode (bigger shield / 15% less boss dmg)
