Idea for Uppercut Using Straight Edge/Weighted Edge/Blunt Edge

Basic Uppercut:

No longer 1 strike, instead, a quick light damage strike top down (from rest position), that leads to a slight ready at the trough of the downward arc leading into a fast high damage uppercut. The reason for the initial strike is so that the animation is not too much the person just holding down their weapon below their waist. Also, it prevents Empower Spamming of the ability (since only the light damage part of it will get the damage increase of 20%).

Straight Edge (Sword): Deals 10% increased damage
Weighted Edge (Axe): Deals [x] damage over 5 seconds.
Blunt Edge (Mace): Stuns the enemy.

Dizzying Swing:
The Uppercut now knocks the enemy back.

Wrecking Blow:
Grants Empower, Increasing the damage of your next attack.

Since the stun is now placed on the mace, it means that wrecking blow can grant empower, and still stun, this is why it was made to have an initial light damage hit so that you wouldn't be able to have a stun, and an empower, on the same damage tick.

    Sword aleasy grants additional damage.
Axes already have a chance to grant a dot.
Maces grant armor pen which is suppiorior to a stun.

Had already thought one morph of wrecking blow granted a stun.

You are literally suggesting something that is already in the game in the form of the 2h weapon passives.

And this exemplifies this, much how the Fire Destro staff increases the Wall of elements damage to burning enemies, shock sets concussed targets off balance, and ice roots chilled enemies.

Also, these are not changes to the passive, but new bonuses for the ability based on weapon type equipped.

    Reasoning for the suggested diversification:
    Sword: Straight Edge: slashing through
Axes: Weighted Edge: gouging a wound, but not slashing through
Maces: Blunt Edge: Smashing, sets off balance, and in this case stun (though having maces set targets off-balance would be a good idea)

Yes, though adding more diversity in the skills, such as with the Destruction staves.

Having the three categories as Straight Edge/ Weighted Edge/ Blunt Edge would work kind of like the Fire/Shock/Frost additional effects of abilities like Wall of Elements/Destructive Touch.

The comparison is not appropriate since to much of what is being suggested in the OP is duplicative of a passive in the skill line as I was attempting to suggest previously, with the exception of the mace.

As pointed out the ability to stun, with a knock back, is already in one of the morphs. It was probably a good decision on Zos' part to remove the knock back and stun from wrecking blow long ago so it could not empower and stun at the same time. I'd suggest no to your suggestion because I don't see a reason it would be good for the game.

    hmm, then perhaps this:

    Sword: Applies minor Fracture
Axe: Sets the Target off Balance
Mace: Knocks the Target back 4m

Then, reapply the stun to the normal dizzying swing, but keeping the knockback associated with the mace (as in dizzying swing will only stun, not knockback unless you use a mace).

Still no justification for it and appears more like wanting change for the sake of wanting change.

To add more diversity to the melee weapons.

Destruction staves have Tri Focus and Ancient knowledge along with unique effects for each element for 3 of the 6 skills.

Melee weapons only have Heavy weapons (2H) and twin blade and blunt for DW. Sword and Board has absolutely no diversity at all with weapon choice.

This is just the beginning of a series of suggestions that I'm gonna roll out.
