Duchess Personality "Jog" Animation Does Not Correctly Play

Hello. I purchased the Duchess personality from the Crown Store. It was shown as having a jog animation, but when my character jogs she does not do the animation displayed in the store. It is an expensive personality and I was hoping it would do all of the animations that I was shown in the in-store preview. I was very disappointed to put it on in game and realize that the jog animation doesn't work, as that's one of the main reasons I bought the personality. I'm posting to ask if this is a current bug, or if it is intended to be missing this animation?

I have asked around, and it seems I'm not the only one having this issue. I've heard the animation may play when using a controller, however, I am using a keyboard and mouse, and do not have a controller with an analog stick to test if it works with one. It was my understanding that the "jog" animation should play for keyboard and mouse when a character is moved without holding down the sprint key. All other animations work this way, and I've never had problems before.

The gif I've included shows the default no-personality jogging animation, and then the identical animation playing when equipping the Duchess personality. Also shown is the assassin personality, which has no issues displaying the jogging animation while moving in a non-sprint jog.

I sent in a ticket to ask if this was planned to be looked at, and was told to make a post here. Thank you for your time.

This is the animation for the "jog" that is shown to players in the Crown Store before they purchase this personality. As you can see in my gif above, it does not display when moving at all.

I don't mean to be rude.. I'm sure everyone is busy working with other things, the Morrowind expansion and everything. But I feel like I have been sold a product that does not work as advertised..
I've sent tickets, bug reports, and made this forum post, and no one really seems to care to take a look at it. To me, buying something that doesn't do what I was shown it would do is a big deal.
All I want to know is if the devs are aware of this bug, and if it is planned to be looked and and fixed in the future.

I hope they will not fix it.

I love the idle and slow walk for commander, but I would hate the jog run to work.

True, it didn't have it originally when I bought it. But when they added the walking/running preview in the crown store I was surprised to find the commander was supposed to have a unique animation. It would have been fine if the commander didn't have the unique jog animation, it looks weird, but ZOS still shouldn't advertise something as having more features than it actually does. The duchess one should be fixed.

I was not aware of the commander personality also being like this, as I have not bought it yet.. and honestly, after this I'm not exactly sure if I want to purchase any other personalities. This is going to make me doubtful of whether anything they put in the Crown Store works as it is shown.

I was told by support that running in circles may fix my issue..

As you can see from this gif, it is not working.

Am I doing it right? ..people are starting to look at me weird.

I only created this thread because all the others seemed to be from a while ago, I come from forums where "necroing" threads that are older than a month or so is against the rules, and I had new information and video specific to my character on the issue. But searching it up there are many many threads and comments about this issue across the forums. It makes me wonder why they have made no official reply yet?

I don't know whats even the point of this forum, if valid and well documented issues are posted just to be ignored for long lengths of time?
I submitted a ticket and they didn't seem to care, just directed me here, where it seems more of a complaint collection forum than anything. I really like this game, but I can understand why a lot of players are frustrated with it.

Duchess personality gives male characters the female jog animation but i would love it if it gave the correct animation.

The Duchess personality is still missing an animation (the jog) that is shown in the Crown Store when previewing it after the recent patches.

I can confirm this, and I would also press for a fix on this. It sucks that I have to slow down to a slow walk in order to display the feminine and elegant walk of the duchess personality, when it clearly comes with a jogging animation as well.

The jogging never displays on my character, not even once, only the default jogging animation, and I use the duchess personality like all the time.

@ZOS_GinaBruno - This asks to be fixed (and it seems to be a general issue of other personalities like the commander, that specifically the jogging animation isn't displaying, while the walking one does.)

This problem is very frustrating to me as well. That animation is the biggest reason why I got the personality, and it's ridiculous that they assign it to something that can't even be achieved on a keyboard.

They can't have intended to deprive keyboard players of the full effect of the personality, they clearly just weren't thinking about the fact that there's no keybind for "jog", and they NEED to fix this problem.

ZOS: Either give us a way to "jog" on a keyboard, or reassign that animation to "run". Personally, I would prefer that it be changed to the "run" animation.

Even if it actually worked, suggesting that we "fix" the problem by running in circles is ridiculous.

That sounds very reasonable to me, I'll admit I'm no expert at how these things work, but it seems like it wouldn't be difficult to just make the "jog" that is shown in the crown store play when the character moves in a keyboard non-sprint motion, as it does with the thief personality and many others.

I am extremely angry with this entire customer service process. I paid 1,700 crowns for both the commander and the duchess personality, and they do not work as advertised. I have followed the proper channels to request help with this issue, I've posted in the forums, etc. and yet ZOS STILL refuses to even give me and others the respect of a proper official response on the status of this issue.

My position is simple: If the personalities are working as intended, and the jogging animations that were advertised in the store will never work as advertised, I want my crowns back so that I can get something that works as advertised. And if this is the case, then bloody well remove the jogging animations from the store so that others aren't misled like I was.

If, instead, they are NOT working as intended, and there is a plan to fix them, then LET US KNOW so that we aren't left hanging here like a bunch of chumps. And give us an ETA.

You want us to buy stuff - I'm happy to support the game. But when I have customer service experiences like I've had with this one, I have to say it really gives me pause and makes me lose trust.

Could we get a word on this? It's been bugged for a long time, and considering that people have spent a lot of money on something that's bugged/not complete, we really need an answer on this.

1) the animation shown in the crown store doesn't show up in game

2) you clearly know how to make it to do so, seeing as the assassin personality works just fine when running/jogging

3) what gives? fix this for us please? or at least say that you're aware of it and working on it so we know

I was excited to see the Duchess personality mentioned in the most recent patch notes, but all it said was:
"Fixed an issue where the /idle animations would not display properly."

They STILL haven't addressed the jog animation problem.

PLEASE fix it!

I never realized but I guess making this thread has shown me that multiple personalities have animations that are displayed in the store but never show up in game.. duchess, commander, drunk.. they could, at the very least, change the store preview and let us know that the animations are working as intended. I think a lot of people would appreciate at least some word about it..

For the drunk personality a run animation is shown in the crown store that doesn't play when sprinting. In game its just the default sprint with the character holding the mug, which, I'll be honest, I haven't had an issue with, because at least the non sprint "jog" movement has the correct animations, and the walk, and everything else.

For the duchess personality it is a much more noticeable issue, as you can only really see the personality at all when standing still or walking.. which we as players do not do often.

Checked after multiple patches, the duchess personality is still missing one of its most iconic animations, the jogging animation, for PC users at the very least.

Does anyone have a controller and the personality who can test to see if an analog stick can produce the animation?

Yep, I always sign in excitedly after every patch, hoping beyond hope that they will have FINALLY fixed this, but no fix and no word. Extremely angry.

"Jog" doesn't really exist how they designed this game.

There are technically 4 levels of speed in this game with differing animations, but only 3 of them are accessible to keyboard and mouse "digital toggle keys" and the 4th requiring "analog acceleration" attributed to joysticks.

1) Walk(requires toggling down speed with a special keybind for keyboard)
2) Jog(moving too fast for walking to look right but not right for faster movement)
3) Run(default keyboard forward movement)
4) Sprint(requires toggling up speed for both keyboard and gamepad)

It would be far too little impact for them to specially code a way for keyboard players to go "half run" between walk and run just to see that animation as it is very tricky to keep it going anyway, even with gamepad.

They really should just reassign animations to be "jog" when "running" and "run" when "sprinting", but this could potentially not look right so would require testing.
I also am not overly fond of the jog animation, but it would make sense to use it for "run".

It's entirely possible that you are correct, @Mystrius_Archaion - what you say makes sense. I don't use a joystick, so I wouldn't have any way of knowing whether there are more speeds than the ones a regular PC user would use (walk, run, sprint, according to what you are saying).

But if that is the case, and the animations are working as intended, then ZOS needs to let us know and make it clear on the store preview that those animations are NOT available without a joystick. The previews in the store - if you are correct - are extremely misleading. I bought the personalities primarily for the running animations, having seen the jester one and missed out. I wanted my characters to have a unique appearance when doing what they do 99% of the time in-game - jogging or, as you say, running.

If they are working as intended then I want my crowns back so that I can get something that provides the benefits I thought I was buying.

Jog may not be available to us PC users, but the animation they show as a "jog" looks like it would play perfectly fine at the non-sprint movement pace. Other animations look fine at that pace, as well. They are shown in the store as "jog", and do work with keyboard and mouse PC controls. I mean, if I can stumble around drunkenly at the non-sprint normal pace, then for sure I can run along with my hands all lady like at my sides.

I bought this personality for an alternate character who is supposed to be more of a lady than my main Khajiit char, but she doesn't really look much different at all with this animation. They should switch the jog animation to the normal pace, or they should let us know its working as intended and represent it correctly in the Crown Store as controller only, like Vudokan said.

Regardless of the limitations in game, its not right to make animations for a personality that people pay for, but can never use.

I finally gave up on this and got a refund. So tired of not getting anywhere with it. I have better things to do.

I won't be buying ANYTHING from the store anymore, until/unless I am 100% certain it works as advertised. I won't be buying more crowns until/unless ZOS actually addresses this issue one way or another. I can't in good conscience support a company that practices deceptive sales, intentionally or otherwise.

I was playing ESO pretty hardcore before this.. I preordered Morrowind and everything.. but now I'm not even sure if I feel like playing. It can really put a damper on things when something isn't working and you call out for help or clarification, and you get a terrible ticket reply and then get redirected to the forums where your issue is ignored for months while you watch them reply to almost every Morrowind thread that gets posted... Its disheartening.

Yeah, I'm a Plus subscriber and pre-ordered Morrowind, as well. I used to login for around 4-6 hours a day. Now I spend maybe an hour every couple days. Just not feeling it. And Morrowind is DLC, and it SUCKS. But that's a different convo...

It's amazing how much a really bad customer service experience can destroy the experience of something, to the extent that it no longer holds appeal that it used to, and I'm seriously considering cancelling my subscription and quitting the game.

I think some game companies assume that people who've invested a lot financially into a game, will see that investment as incentive to stick with it. I don't care how many hundreds of dollars I have invested in a game. I can and will walk away. I did it with LotRO. I had spent thousands on that game over the course of 7 years, and walked away without looking back.
