5500Crowns is $39.99 in USD (the best value)
So each crown is 0.727 cents
    .727*15,000(unfurnished)= $109.05 USD
    .727*18,800(furnished)= $136.68 USD

On sale 5500 crown packs are $23.99

    ×3=$71.97 before tax
    ×4=$95.96 before tax

    Ok so,
each reduced price crown is 0.436 cents each
    .436*15,000 = $65.40 USD
    .436*18,800 = $81.97 USD

People are confusing the purchase price of the bundles with the price of the house. You will have unspent crowns.
I won't be buying the house, but I wanted to put specific cost to the argument.

Worth every crown, in my opinion. >_>

I'm not judging. I'm just putting comparative prices that reflect the crown store discount. Many people stocked up on crowns, myself included

That's how and why I purchased it. Those crowns aren't going to do anything but sit about going to waste. Plus the fact that it's so spacious. I'm sorry, but I just can't get over how much damn space ZOS gave to us. And it's instanced! :o Too good to pass up. Waaaay too good pass up, if you have the means of affording it.

There's no storage space with housing and no types of real benefits in general. You can't build anything if you decide to go without ESO Plus for a while because of how small the limit becomes. The building limits are small in general with or without ESO plus and you can't wayshrine directly from your house. Housing is not very exciting in the end imo. It's nice being able to teleport to "Guild Hall" to decon stuff though at least. If only they could pull off something as amazing as Wildstar's housing. You could do an insanely large amount of building, had far more space, more building tools, and got it all for free... Is it really that difficult for a game like this to pull off even 1/10th of that kind of feature? I mean.. I know Wildstar fell on many other aspects of MMO design but the housing was simply fantastic. I'm sure ESO has a much larger budget to work with than they did since they're practically an indie company so I'd really expect more from Zenimax. Spending that much money for any house in this game just simply isn't justified by any means.

    Interesting.

People expected it to be much higher than that so I guess it's a fair price. Compared to the manors and larger homes this is an island. So a few thousand crowns more I wouldn't expect many people to be complaining.

Even Swtor has more to do with the housing than ESO does atm, but even then no one even visits your houses barely.

You forked out bucks to play a game where you play a digital character in a non-existent world. A lot of people would call YOU a fool for that, so you might want to rethink throwing that term around.

If you have ESO+ for awhile, you can build up a big amount of crowns without buying crown packs.

You are still spending $15 per month and getting 1500 crowns. Buying the island with ESO+ crowns is actually more expensive (in the long run) than buying it with crowns purchased during the sales.

I pay $59.99/mo to *** communications for 150mbps. I do this only for streaming Netflix and online gaming. Path of Exile is free but I've been supporting GGG more than any other developer in the past. Can't say in total how much I've spent in supporter packs but it's far more than my investments with ESO. That said, I can't imagine paying outright for a 'Home' within ESO, using crowns or any other currency ( aside from gold in game). It's just insane to me, unless I had many friends who wanted to pitch and and split the cost. Granting those friends access and ability to furnish. These types of aesthetic 'copypasta' digital domains are only useful to the RP types, most everyone else is either PvP, PvE content or in major towns using crafting/guild merchants.

    Basically, 'it's not worth'.

True. But if you're getting the ESO+ anyway (like, for it's other features).... you still have those crowns lying around for you to do something with. /shrug

    Interesting.

See, I'm fine with high prices on "purely cosmetic" things... because they're exactly that. Purely cosmetic. Not required or needed in any way. Luxuries.

Personally, I think the 5k crowns for the assistants is much more annoying. Since they actually serve some function.

(I mean, people spend extra $ on getting "designer" jeans instead of Levis. Or getting a Lexus instead of a Honda. Or a platinum ring instead of a silver one. Etc, etc, etc. Doesn't seem that different to me. They're paying for logo, or appearance, or "conspicuous consumption". Do the people railing against expensive MMO cosmetics also wander through life yelling about this, too?)

people are saying its a waste, lets put that to the test

the price is around what 80bucks, if u spend like over 80 hours in there, and for those that have bought it, they will over the time do that, creating/rearranging/roleplaying, dont forget that 12 people can be in there at the same time, without any one bothering them having fun.

that would mean 1hour fun cost 1buck only

if you buy a movie on itunes as example its like 15bucks and its what 90 mins long, and maybe just maybe you will watch it 2-3 times, that means you have paid more for having that kinda fun, that others have in this game.

I recently took the family out to dinner and spent almost $500 at a nice restaurant. It would have been FAR cheaper to eat at home. Can I compare THAT to an item in a video game? The meal lasted a couple hours. This island will last longer.

I still do not get out the outrage on these. I haven't bought a single house because they serve no function without storage.

Guild halls are nice and I have pitched in things to help with those.

    But yes 160$ for pixels.

I don't agree that the houses serve no function. I have a free port to nearly every major city. I have all my crafting stations in one convenient place, with no lag or people trying to freaking dual all around me. One of my guildies has 10 sets of attuned stations at his house so our guild members don't have to run the map to get to IC just to earn 5 writ vouchers. Sleek Creek gives you access to the outlaw refuge without risking getting caught by a guard. I bought it for about 300k gold. Also, you can drop your banker and merchant in the house. It is a one stop shop after dungeons or questing.
