Orbs and Shards

How about removing the cool down entirely and making it only return the same amount as a heavy attack, or maybe heavy attack plus a little more to compensate the cost to cast. This would essentially give a vehicle for the healer to heavy attack during low maintenance parts of the right and transfer the resources they gain to the tank and DDs. That or change one if the guard morphs to funnel resource regeneration to the tank.

Just anything besides swapping out glyphs. Anything more interesting than passive sustain, which is just lazy and boring.

Not practical to remove the CD on orbs and glyphs. The person casting them has the same regen issues you have. They do not have a mystical unlimited resources just because they are casting orbs and shards.

They also have other things to do like heals and tanking.

Yeah but healing has more opportunity for heavy attacks, or even like kind of done now with sunderflame and nmg, let 1 or 2 dps be buff bots and just heavy attack the majority of the time while casting orbs. Just a thought.

This would encourage exactly the type of gameplay that ZOS is trying to move away from with these changes,

Doing so would only serve to increase the ceiling, whereas their intent is to lower it.

Therefore what you're proposing seems rather counterproductive.

How about since they share a GCD now and can restore either pool based on lowest percentage, the GCD be lowered to 10 seconds as opposed to 20? We already have a synergy that has a shorter GCD than other synergies.

It seems like this is a good 'middle ground' to move this too.

Combining these two skills is a big middle finger to the Templar class. Shards were a class defining skills through the utility it provided to the group.

The Templar class got turned into an empty shell of a class by the patch notes and it is just sad. I play a mDK and I feel bad for all Templars.

The only way this change makes sense is when you look at it in the context of the warden as the replacement for Templars in endgame / group content and this is just a not so subtle way by Zos to move the group utility of shards to the Warden class.

Their past statements and current actions really don't sync well at all. Class defining skills are being gutted this patch and everyone is going to be pushed into being the same. Class skill lines should be the backbone of a build, not undaunted or other universal skill lines.

It's absolutely silly to have them share the same cooldown. No other synergies work like that, we should be getting more abilities as the game progresses, not less.

As much as I try to stay optimistic... Man this game is a complete Husk of what it once was. Every six months is like a God damn game of Russian roulette. Just hoping that they don't take away a skill you thought interesting or kind of cool. Because that's all they've done. Every patch is take take take, and nothing given. All in trying to combat power creep. For every new cool skill a class is given four are taken away... I'm trying man, but I just can't see the silver lining anymore.
