If you want to be upset with the lack of clarification on WHAT is wrong, go ahead, you're not entitled to that and you are not paying for that and you are NOT a customer in that regard.
There's little better in life than a still-warm cookie straight from the oven.ZeroSumPhase wrote: »The maintenance isn't extended. This is just the difference in the time it takes between a light attack and a heavy attack. Maintenance is now about resource management, so it takes a little bit longer, but you get the same end result.
You sir, win all the Internet cookies for today
Wrong. Acces to the game is free after the initial purchase, it is not part of the subscription, you subscription only covers the extras; monthly crown allotment, craft bag, extra xp etc.If you want to be upset with the lack of clarification on WHAT is wrong, go ahead, you're not entitled to that and you are not paying for that and you are NOT a customer in that regard.
Nonsense.
I am a subscriber. I pay to have access to the game. If they are not providing the access to the game I am paying them to provide, I have the right to expect them to deal with me in an honest, transparent, and forthright manner.
I don't really care if they're waiting for a server part or if they found a piece of code they needed to rework, but I am glad they posted an ETA for the fix. That meets my expectations.
That's much better than what they pulled this weekend when I tried to log into the game, the login failed to connect, and the Help link took me to a page that claimed the login issues had been resolved. Nobody appreciates a boldfaced lie from a company you're giving money to.

This is how many times in a row now? Come on guys, you're doing a great job as far as I'm concerned, but these maintenances -which are supposed to be just that; maintenance- shouldn't take this long. Sure something can go wrong, but for something that should be routine, just how often can it go thís wrong?
Guess I can quote myself yet again; This is how many times in a row now? How many more years do you think you'll need to finally figure it out? Maintenances here are going wrong too often for way too long.
Hiw the damn hell do I turn off email notifications for a specific post??? Getting 93 emails in less than 5 damn minutes because this forum us totally *** and sends an email for every damn reply even when I havnt returned to the forum. Everything zos does is completely backwards....
Since the servers were fine at the moment you took them down, the time-honoured "if it ain't broke don't fix it" would seem to ably apply.ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »Hey guys, just posted a thread about today's PC maintenance here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/338710/extended-maintenance-on-pc-4-24-17
In short, we ran into an issue and are currently estimating wrapping up around 3pm EDT today (in about 4.5 hours).

In the mainframe world "preventative maintenance" is usually viewed with horror by users, it's the time their nicely running system is taken down by the engineers only to be broken for umpteen hours afterwards .. did ZOS hire some old IBM/Unisys/etc. engineers for their servers?
