I don't care about ingame stuff - I have ESO+ running, what about that? Just -1 day of it and glhf?
We can ALL agree that maintenances are a pain in the neck, but there is an easy fix around it,and for ZOS's sake,a cheap one.
What has been applied to some MMOs out there, and would work nicely with ESO as well, is simply a maintenance compensation.
Yes,it is bribery, but if it works,it ain't stupid. We wouldn't be asking for alot. Lets say... 5k gold compensation for every maintenance, even less if this is too extreme. Just SOMETHING to brighten up our mood and make up for the lost time.
Please keep this at the top so a ZoS executive can have a look...
The only who doing this here is you with your ranting about our compensation - what's a deal for you? If you don't need it - don't take it.You really make yourselves sound completely clueless, ignorant and moronic

This is not a good comparisson... We, the players, didn't make any mistakes.
Stability upgrades, improved performance, bug fixes, keeping the game alive, new content...
Yeah. Those MONSTERS! How dare they make us wait for this sort of stuff.
Hell, they should actually give us all $50 instead of us buying the game. Then should pay us $30 an hour to play.
OP is onto something here!

Wrong example. We are customers, they are the providers. Here where I live (Greece) the maintenance normally takes all my morning noon but now it took all my day. That, for a game company is a fail.
Truth is they do not need to compensate us with anything. But any good community manager would know that they should.
If this was a restaurant and you had an a membership (once or monthly) that gave you access to it but when you tried going you found out it was closed all day, no matter how many times you came, you would want a something, even if it was a free soda. Tokens of good will are always nice and appreciated. But they do not HAVE to.
So yea, bottom line? Would be nice if they did anything, but they are not bound to do something and they are certainly not wrong or bad if they give nothing in the end.

great lets take your resturant example: so if its closed on holidays, closed for upgrades, closed for service checks and such, would u get money back? hell no, its part of life
If you knew about closing time before signing contract - then yes, it's OK.
But if off-time goes much longer then it was promised?
Good manager would think about compensation for customers.
Bad manager would hiding behind forum's "we don't anything! all is OK! We love you!" trolls.

"ZeniMax may patch, update, or modify a Service at any time with or without notice to You. Notwithstanding the foregoing, ZeniMax has no obligation to make available any patches, updates or modifications or correct any errors or defects in the Services."
ZOS TOS. You agreed to this. You actively said yes to this. You said this is okay.
Additionally, you agreed to this:
"Except as prohibited by applicable law and subject to the Statutory Obligations, You agree that ZeniMax will not be liable for any interruption of the Services, delay or failure to perform"
