I was apparently the only one in my guild who didn't get a beta invite. And because the Beta NDA means they can't talk about the game around me, they decided to kick me out.
Thanks a lot, ZOS. I have been in that guild since 2014. Now they're treating me like a leper because you just HAD to make it a closed beta instead of an open one like usual.

Ok, please explain to me what the heck ZoS got anything to do with you getting guild kicked?
Really, I wanna know...
Did you even read my post? The reason I got kicked was because this is a closed beta and my guildees would get in trouble even talking about it around me. ZOS made the choice to make it closed and invite-only, and require NDA's. As a consequence, those of us who didn't get invites are now shunned in our own guilds.

You know why you weren't picked for closed beta? I think I have an idea. Hint: "its all ZOS fault"

He then chose to leave the guild.
They were right not to let him in a channel discussing the new content, and he was childish for thinking they should open themselves to a lawsuit for him.

The difference between having password-locked NDA channel and kicking someone out TS to protect NDA is just a technicality and serves the same purpose.I was apparently the only one in my guild who didn't get a beta invite. Once all Beta testing is complete we will re-invite you, but you must also resubmit a guild application.
Thanks

I quit the guild earlier today. Can't deal with this. It's not like it's my fault I didn't get an invite, for crying out loud. I really liked that guild too. It's a shame ZOS had to make this a closed beta. I doubt I'm the only one feeling left out in their guild right now. All over an expansion that probably won't be all that great anyway (and that I planned on buying before all of this has me rethinking the whole game).
Well, I still gave a couple of other guilds at least.

I'm not a fan boi, quite far from it. I've had mods threaten to ban my forum account many times for things I've said about ZeniMax.
As for being sued. ZeniMax has proven they will sue, and sue hard if you violate their NDA.

Out of the $500 miliion Occulus has to pay, $200 mil was for the NDA violation.
But in the end, its a CYA.

Suing the creators of Occulus for millions isn't the same as suing an individual for an amount that you will never ever see because his earning potential isn't very high...be lucky to get your court and attorney fees back from him before he dies if he pays the absolute minimum.

That doesn't mean it's not a possibility.
Likely, no. Possible, yes.
They're more likely to threaten to sue than actually do it... but IIRC, the original launch beta consequences were booting from beta.
