Years Later and VMA Is STILL Broken

It's been years now. Years! Why is this type of crap still occurring? And please don't say it's on the player's end, because it's not. Why is VMA still broken, after it has been out for so long? Why are we still taking damage, before an animation is performed? Why!? Why are the damn loot tables still a jumbled mess, after we (the people who line your damn pockets) have complained to you all about your loot system for months on end? You made loot distribution even? That's funny, considering I as well as numerous others still get more: Bows, restoration staves, and 2H's than anything else. Let alone inferno staves and lightning staves.

And yet, you design content like VMoL where things like Maelstrom Inferno staves and lightning staves are pretty much required...

I keep trying to give you all at ZOS a break, and still return to this pos game. I keep going back on my word, and quitting and returning over and over again. But maybe I am truly addicted, and really need to realize that you all not only don't care about your player base. But, that you all never will. We are just a dollar sign to you. Doesn't make any damn sense. It really doesn't. But you can sit-up in a stream looking goofy, and dodge questions right and left about your halfassed testing team and quality control team. Assuming you all even have 1. Smfh.

Edit: I just watched it again, and that "Clawed Swipe" didn't even register on my character. It literally didn't even show-up under the damage I took. It was instant, and killed me with no animation from the boss at all. I had died prior to the same exact thing beforehand, and a death on the 1st stage's boss from the game choosing to randomly freeze for 5 seconds.

    I'm not actually seeing what the issue is here? I've slowed your clip down to .25 speed, and can clearly see the points where you 1) are stunned by the boss's screech because, before that moment, you backed up instead of continuing around the boss in a clockwise motion 2) broke free of the stun and were then hit by the mage and 3) were killed by the boss's swipe after already having low-ish health from the mage's attack (to my eye, the swipe occurs as it should at 00:18 - 00:19, and not prematurely before you take damage).

    Don't get me wrong, I completely agree with you that there are some aspects of Maelstrom Arena that are pretty buggy. I for example usually suffer from sliding all over Arena 3, having no control over where my character moves, and then dying while I casually moonwalk through the water/poison. I just don't see, in this particular clip, anything out of the ordinary that could not have been avoided by being better aware of your surroundings.

    The red aoe is supposed to signal when damage is about to happen... in this video the scream happens just before the aoe shows up.
    I have this happen a lot too... but mostly on stage 9 after i come down from the crystals. i've died with the boss at less than 5% because the aoe signal didn't show until after the explosion killed me. One time recently i actually saw the boss health at 0%...just as the invisible aoe killed me.

    The lag deaths in this place are unreal. But not as bad as the drop rates...

    I agree with you regarding loot table, which is totally messed up.

    I got bows, restoration staff and Ice staff, almost in all traits.

    I made like 40+ runs and have found only two lighting (Nirnhooned & infused) and 1 inferno (precise)

    There is huge lag spikes in vMA as of late. Also during the last boss's crystal phase if I get stunned by a meteor I cannot break free, no matter how much stam I have. NO idea when these things are gonna be fixed

    I see now what you mean about the screech-- I was just focusing on the boss's swipe as that seemed to be most of the grief the OP had with his death. I suppose at this point I normally just anticipate the screech and don't even pay attention to the red (or lack thereof), but yeah, it definitely is an issue that should be addressed.

    About the lag in general, I know that feel. Arenas 3 and 8 are generally the biggest culprits for me, 3 with my sliding all over the place, and 8 with Flame Spinner adds not actually being where they appear on my screen (can't even count the deaths I've suffered trying to bash what is apparently thin air, instead of the NPC), plus the Lurchers teleporting from their spawns to suddenly in my face combined with their heavy-hitting melee attack. Good times!

    The swipe was bs as well. It was extremely poorly telegraphed. After slowing it down dramatically, do I notice the swipe.
