With the new changes to regen my Magi NB feels strong-ish?

So I was playing around on all of my chars last night on the PTR. Doing a few delvs, pub dungeons, etc just trying to get a feel for the new changes. Now the changes to stam/magi regen hurt, a lot, even weaving attacks I was constantly out of resources. But oddly enough, out of all of my characters, my magi NB felt the best. And my magi NB has been the last char I would play for a long while now, the attacks are just so impotent compared to all of my other chars. (not including my new warden in this)

But the siphoning buff was just enough to keep me alive in most situations. Don't get me wrong here, my DPS was still terrible on my magi NB, but the sustain from siphoning was enough that it kind of balanced out my crappy DPS vs always being out of resources like my other chars. The only thing that came close was my Stam DK and Stam sorc both DW, weaving heavy attacks. But even trying to weave a heavy attack after every skill, I found myself in the hole quite a bit depending on the situation.

All in all, the magi NB damage is still dismal. But with all of the changes to regen, it feels the most like the old regen model out of all of the classes, albeit it still has massive dips in resource pools. But it can get the resources back very fast with siphon.

How does siphon work now specifically in your experience?
Haven't had my char copied yet and I'm curious AF :P

Lot of people are still raw over the changes, like the poster above. Instead of worrying about what was, I'm trying to adapt to what is coming. Yes it sucks that it doesn't give stam back now, but I'm just going by a flat comparison to all of my other classes on PTR atm. Not compared to anything live.

It's just a flat health + magi per light or heavy attack. Because heavy attacks take so damn long with staff's it's really hard to "weave" heavy attacks in between skills with staff, like I can with my stamina char's. So I've just been doing skill LA, LA, skill and it keeps my magi up in a pretty good range for most times. The magi return per attack is pretty small, so i'm having to double tap LA to make it worth while. But it's still better than what any other magi class gets atm.

Oh, and I have a feeling the Siphoner CP is going to be ill in pvp. Completely negate someone's (butchered) CP stat regen?

    Awesome, thanks for clarifying.
What kinds of sets are you running? (or what I'm really asking: how much are you invested into regen?)

I had zero regen in my gear because I was trying to compare the base regen of each class w/ self buffs alone.
