He and no one here has any right to tell or look down on people if they continue to play or invest into the game.
He's abusing his position by asking his fans to leave/unsub from the game (if it's true he's been pushing that).
People need to stop sheeping after streamers and think for themselves, judge for yourself if this game is worth your time and money and by your own standards. Don't do something just because of someone else's views if you're not willing to question those views yourself.
After all that if this game really isn't for you, then feel free to leave or unsub, but FFS make your own choices in life.
He seemed to be pushing that agenda in his ranting video, however his leaving one was much more refined and in check.Prospero_ESO wrote: »He and no one here has any right to tell or look down on people if they continue to play or invest into the game.

He did not actively ask people to leave the game but of course passively like "If you want to make a change you have tö vote with your wallet aka cancel preorder or cancel subscription" I guess everybody reads into that what everybody wants.
But yes peple need to stop thinking that the good or the bad of the game is dependent of a few streamers. I will miss his guides, they were helpful to me but the world will go on

He could be saying anything in any tone with any language and you'd be hating on him.
Yeah because it's all about the hate...
I interact with several different ESO streamers a couple I completely disagree with, but they can present their argument in a non hysterical way.
You called him a "drama queen twitpilot," whatever that is, in the very first comment you posted in this thread. Your bias against him is obvious. In your case, yeah, it's about the hate.
Whatever dude, he's having a full PTSD melt down on line right now over a video game, I think the guy needs help and I'm not saying that to be a jerk. I can tell you're a fan and if you care about the guy you should be concerned with his well being.
What you fail to understand is that ESO is the livelihood for people like Deltia. It has consumed much of his life for 3 years. Everyday.
You personally are unlikely to ever show such committment or investment.
Deltia has done tremendous work for ZOS. So much in fact that ZOS devs get a twinkle in their eye when he has something to say.
The way you talk about him, anonymous on the internet, makes you look like more of a d-bag.
Do you know him personally?
Deltia is a big boy and I'm sure he could stand up for himself if he gave two craps about what ppl say on a forum.
I mean, you've prob never met this guy and you're standing up for a complete stranger on a message board.
Because I'm a rational human being who can comprehend where Deltia is coming fro..
Exactly.
Do we know him personally? No, but we know him through his writing. He is not writing a novel, his writing is more like technical writing and with that, yes, we can actually 'know' him. From everything I have read on his site he seems to be a well thought out kind of man.
I have recently returned to ESO and spent quite a bit of time reading the internet on different aspects of ESO and found @Deltia work to be top notch. His work is clear and concise and covers a lot of ESO without saying 'this is the only way'.
And before I get flamed with 'play the game to learn' the first thing most everyone says is 'go watch a video before you get in a group ~insert any puggable content here~ So people can't have it both ways /rant on that BS
Basicly this.
People dont want to admit their game is flawed.
No, I'm saying I don't put much into what some streamer has to say.
They are just entertainment.
It's like people who fixate on celebrities and follow everything they do and say. It in no way enhances your life in any meaningful way.
That's just my opinion. What you like to do with your time is your business and I have nothing against the guy personally.
But I see it for what it is - it's entertainment and what someone says shouldn't be what you base your judgement on.
I havent played Morrowind on PTS and I won't be able to try it out until it launches in June. I don't play ESO so I can reach some crazy endgame meta build. I play cause I enjoy the lore and the core content - PvP is just a plus to switch up the grind.
I'll make my own decisions on how well or how bad the game is when I get to play it. Not beforehand just because someone melts after reading patch notes on a patch that hasn't gone live and can and will be changed and tweaked.
...Your opinion fails to factor in how much these guys play, observe the balance of the game and their knowledge of it. They -have- to be, their livelyhood depends on it if they make something like this a fulltime job.
If this a livelihood and you plan on going elsewhere then there is nothing like making an outrage video for a bit of PR and get your name out there. 22 pages in this thread and loads of others. I assume that's led to increased traffic to his youtube channel and site
I think if everyone is going to be so hard on ZOS and make accusations based purely on knee jerk reactions to patch notes then its massively hypocritical to assume Deltias motives here are purely selfless. If anything this outrage "I'm quitting over patch notes" which later becomes "I was quitting anyway for other reasons" is just as exploitative and manipulative as what ZOS are doing.
If I was deltia and wanted to go to a new game then do I want to start from scratch in that community or do I want to build on what I already have. the answer is its easier in the longrun to take people with you. Now presented with such an awful patch there is a chance people will come. From a certain point of view this is classic opportunism.
Now I am not saying this is definitely the case. But this is no different from players saying ZOS are doing a money grab. No-one on this forum can speak to ZOS's grand plan (if any) for these changes. Because they have coincided with the warden it looks very likely it is a money grab. But equally these changes could have happened anyway.
Just as Deltia could be leaving because of these changes and is genuinely outraged. Or just as likely he was leaving anyway and this has presented him with an opportunity to take a chunk of his income stream with him. No disrespect to the guy. I'd be doing the same.
After going through this entire thread and seeing the whole "deltia is our white knight" mentality it just irked me. Everyone goes on about balance in the game. Maybe there should be some form of balance to though processes as well.
TBH I might subscribe then. Would be more relevant to my life and gaming.22 pages because Deltia is going to focus on becoming a lifestyle vlogger and fitness guru? This is epic

I watched this "Slap in da fac3" mock outrage for years in the WoW community and we can all see the state of that game now due to Blizzard actually listening to that crap.

They dont lisen even if you are positive. If they want it to stay in the game, it stays. The only way to make them change their minds now is hurting their bottom line.
I am not concerned about them not listening to the players enough. I am more concerned about them listening to the players too much. I want them to have a vision, and execute on that vision. I would also like that vision to be the same vision each time they execute on it. If player suggestions align with that vision, I want them to take those suggestions. If the player is suggesting something that they think improves the game, but conflicts with the vision, I want ZOS to ignore it.
My interpretation of the most recent class changes is that they have decided that they lost their way and are returning to their vision. Through incremental changes, they have drifted. This is a course correction back to their vision.
Right now, I do not honestly believe that they are trying to make Warden an OP, must have, class in order to sell copies of Morrowind. I expect that the role of Warden, in terms of sales, rests in the special effects unique to the class, not how the skills perform relative to the other classes. For balance, I would be working really hard to make sure that the Warden was able to compete with the other classes so that people who buy Morrowind do not feel like they got ripped off, while making sure that the new class is not OP. It is a very narrow path, one that is complicated by the whole "pillar" thing that is impacting the other classes on top of the class balancing that is going on.
Okay.
If the idea didn't change every two or three months I'd be alot more perceptive, as it stands, their just rocking the boat for no reason. Lets design the game around DPS timers then nerf your ability to DPS.
What? There are a handful of dps timer mechanics in the PVE side of the game. RoM. Maybe the Swords in a Trial? That's it. VMA can be done with tank in Bahraha's/ Leeching while swinging heavy attacks and popping a shield, so it's not even a necessity there.
There's also a much more informative post on Reddit, too, where someone has shown that the spread and weighted distribution of the new CP will actually INCREASE base dps, even while factoring in the lower sustain.
DPS is going to go up, for those folks who can invest all their CP. It takes a few minutes to either read the patch notes, or to investigate baseless presumptions before assuming they're true, and people really need to start doing the latter because so many of you are being ridiculous. It's really embarassing for grown adults (I'm assuming) to be having these kind of tantrums. I've been guilty of this kind of behavior before, and that means that it's time for me to step away from whatever (suposedly fun) activity has subverted my pleasantness and civilty and turned me into a frothing idiot.
P.S. MMORPGs change the meta constantly. WoW reinvents itself with each expansion, and on a much grander scale than what ZoS is doing. I'm wondering how many MMORPGs many of you have actually played before.
Wrong. Wrong on almost every account.
There are multiple DPS timers. Skoria. Both SOTH dungeons, Lord Warden, I could go on and on, even Mobs so innane as the flesh atro's on ICP. Many fights are designed to where the longer you spend, the harder it gets, and that's the crux of the issue. The game was designed, newer content especially, around the sustain we had. And until I see patch notes lowering mob health or resistances, the center cannot hold at it's current form.
DPS isn't going to go up, and the content hasn't been edited for the current DPS level. So..
Also, I have played a few. And I've actually played WoW. Wanna know the difference between this game and WoW? Even when it edits how a class plays, how many abilities, you get the idea...you still learn by -playing the game-. You still learn almost everything piecemeal because of how WoW is setup.
Comparing this game to WoW only highlights how this games disconnect is terribad. You can crush dissent all you like, you can villify people with an opposing opinion, calling them children, crazy, what have you, but it dosent change that this game is eating itself alive.
Wrong? Hardly. Lord Warden does not have an enrage timer, I'm questioning if you know what that is. The fight can go on indefinitely. As well, the suggestion that Skoria (without the tome, which is an option) has a timer worth mentioning is erroneous. If it takes your group all five platforms and then some to burn the boss, no patch or reversal of nerfs will help you--there's a composition issue. Furthermore, Flesh Atros in ICP can and should be run past outside of the 2nd boss; and, if you have more than one or two that spawn during that fight, you've FAILED MECHANICS NOT A DPS CHECK. (Alternatively with great dps and a solid tank you can actually ignore mechanics and stack and burn whatever spawns).
Now that we've cleared that up, please cite these multiple dps timers which have, as you've said, been cemented into the foundation of the game.
Again, dps will be universally HIGHER with CP allocation in Morrowind, not lower--even though sustain will be down. Hop on PTS and see for yourself. I did. And the numbers are great.
Whether it's a DPS timer, or a fight designed where the more time you spend, the harder it is, my point stands. They are almost the exact same thing for the sake of DPS's effect on the game.
And DPS will go down, -overall-. Sustain will go down. therefor, your ability to continuously do damage will too.
Your point is still wrong. All of the examples you cited, I proved to be factually incorrect and as not being "dps checks" by definition of what an MMORPG "dps check" is, wherein an unavoidable mechanic is triggered (usually fatal) if a dps threshold is not passed within a cetain period of time. Something getting "harder" because members of your party have poor skills, reaction times, resource management, whatever, is not a dps check--it's an unfortunate group composition. These people will still be bad next patch. Nothing will change that. There are very few fights in the game with one-shot timed mechanics, or waves of infinitely spawning adds that will certainly wipe the party. Claiming that the game is based around such mechanics, as you did, is just plain wrong. The end. Moving on, you say you've been around the block in MMORPGs, and if you had, you'd be familiar with any number of WoW's bosses, or even FFXIV's, which literally wipe the raid when said check isn't passed.
And again, average damage will go UP with the new CP distribution. They raised the floor. You can invest half way in most CP to get 75% of the gains, which means you can invest in TWICE AS MANY CP nodes. Someone's already done the calculations on Reddit. Go there, and it's either the top post or the stickied one. There's even a node that increases DIRECT DAMAGE, which you can then pair with all the other damage raising passives. Did you read the patch notes? Did anyone? Or are they just dipping their hands into the cess and spreading around the diarreah that everyone's caught here.
The only thing people have to do is throw a *** reduction glyph or two on and their damage will still be higher than it was in Homestead. That's why I find this whole circus of outrage hilarious, and sad.
There are a few dps checks in the game though, that cannot be denied-
The 1st boss in vMoL- finite time to kill him or wipe
Rakkhat's execute phase in vMoL- finite time to kill or wipe
I believe the Mages execute phase in vAA is as well (never actually failed it so not 100% on this one) - damage ramps up over time, not sure if she wipes after certain time period
Potentially the Serpent in vSO (double Manti's and ever increasing totems)
Valerial in vAA- if you can't down most of her shades in time the explosion will wipe
Atronachs in vICP- start 1shotting everyone if not killed within certain timeframe
Some final bosses in dungeons are fairly close to dps checks, although some more punishing than others
Eg
Skoria
vRoM hm
Tempest Island hm

If it's just a lazy half assed Wrothgar with more surface area that's inaccessible and only there for bragging rights, then yeah morrowind will be my last purchase in eso
The games direction has been VERY heavily leaning towards pay to win, no that is not a cliched or repeated statement that I heard. It's my honest to goodness perception to what's happening with eso
The crown crates, poisons, and now they have a pay wall "warden" that just stole other classes best attributes and put it all in it's class.
I love how eso looks, plays and the world built. But ignoring the cancer that is growing within the class balances is disturbing. They are balancing the entire game off of such a small portion of elite players in the game it's sad.

ZoS want people to buy Morrowind so they make the new class superior by nerfing others.
I will continue subbing and playing for now, because I am not an elite and bumble through just doing whatever, I am a scrub and no right minded group would take me into a trial anyway because I don't have the right set. Lack of new content that I like is my issue and I know that ZOS are never going to please everyone. TG and DB were very similar and are not the sort of things I enjoy. This is down to my taste I know but some new content about the positive aspects of life would be a change instead of murder and thievery.
As someone who had previously completed Cadwells silver/gold, reached Vet16 before CP took over and had characters at vet level in every alliance, 1T was not really anything for me to get excited about.
Homestead is mildly entertaining but I have my manor, target skel and the 3 attuned crafting stations I was after, so have no need to chase down master writs any more (less than 2 months after it launched). I don't consider decorating and furnishing a house as fun, otherwise I would be spending my time looking after my real house instead of playing.
PVP is a drudge, take a keep, lose a keep, get ganked and tea bagged, rinse and repeat. At 6am one alliance has everyone on and owns everything, at 2pm another alliance has taken over, etc.
Approaching 800 CP, double XP events every other month do not interest me and with over 200 undaunted keys that I cannot be bothered using, I only run dungeons if I or a friend is levelling up our undaunted line on a new character.
I do not expect any tea and sympathy, I choose to play as much as I do and cannot expect the game to keep me going for ever. Maybe I'd get more fake sympathy if I did leave and offered to give away my millions in gold and the several million gold worth of materials stuffed into my craft bag.
