Now that I have a house I want to buy them. I avoided them up until now because of the price but with the crown sale I'm thinking its time to pick one up. Not sure which is more useful. Opinions welcome!

Even with crowns 1/2 price it's more than I'm willing to pay. If it was about £5 I'd get the banker, but any more than that is too much for what amounts to letting you skip a couple of loading screens.

Easier to just port out for 1 min between dungeons and sell/decon trash items. The merchant can't repair so the utility is quite limited. As for bank inventory management I always keep all gear that I need and a stack of useful consumables on me.

Banker

Got the banker to go along with my new Sleek Creek home. Only just bought both yesterday and I'm already enjoying the convenience of swapping stuff between my characters. Sure there's a bank just up the hill, but given how often I swap stuff I'm happy for the ease.

Probably would not have paid for it without the crown sale though.

Bought both a long time ago, because I had a lot of subscriber crowns and nothing else to spend them on. When housing dropped I kind of wished I had kept most of the crown I blew, because furnishing a place seemed like it was going to be such a grind.

I'm happy with how it turned out though, I use both the banker and merchant frequently, solo and for group benefit. I would also happily pay for a fence who doesn't take a cut.

I still don't like that they're named NPCs.

If the merchant were a recolored banekin with the scholar personality, and the banker were a recolored scamp with the duchess personality, then I'd probably get them. Instead of being assistants with reduced abilities, they'd be pets with enhanced abilities.

And it wouldn't look weird for more than one person to have them. And people would meet up just to have all their scamps haughtily fanning themselves.

Totally worth the cost then.

I have no need for a personal banker or merchant. 99.9% of my dealings usually span between alts. No need to waste Crowns on them.

But 40% off houses in the game? I'm having a hell of a time deciding if I want my house near Rawl'kha or Dune.

I bought the Banker a bit back and have found that tremendously helpful (moving stuff between alts), out on a shopping spree and need more cash, etc.

I was leaning towards buying the Merchant once a Crown Sale finally hit, but now, I'm on the fence about it.

I'd hate to buy the gimped version and then have them FINALLY release the datamined/improved version.

I think I'll just wait and see what happens when Morrowind releases...

Got the banker a while back. Didn't realize how much I'd be using it at the time but boy am I glad I got it.

I might get a merchant in the future if a Dark Elf or Argonian (Argonian slave that is! Mwahaha) becomes available. A redguard would look out of place in my Dunmer's house.

Exactly. With ESO+ crafting bag, I usually only stop at the bank when I'm done playing or if I have a lot of equipment I'm saving for deconstruction on another character. Whenever I'm in a city, I always vendor and deconstruct, so bags filling up isn't an issue.

I also like to steal everything that's not bolted down, so I actually find myself in the refuges more than cities!!

Ah well. I still may wait to see the skin for the new Merchant. I'm not in love with the arms akimbo style of the current one. (Otherwise I'd've been fine with her.)

I'm on the fence about it. Initially it was not something I would even consider - I felt they were far too expensive and didn't think they'd be that much of a convenience, but my friend recently bought the merchant and it was SO nice to have her available in dungeons to sell stuff. I'm actually tempted to pick up both now.

I would buy the Banker but for 5,000 crowns... I'd rather spend that or save it for a mansion. The banker is highly useful but not $50 worth, or even $25
