Now I'm very curious to what to run to be effective as a WW like this guy was.
To give info on how strong this wolf was and what he was running, The fight:
- Lasted over 10 mins in an open field
- the wolfs self heals (magicka ability) was very strong (like BoL on Templar) leading me to think he must've used pelinials.
- I was a stam heavy armoured DK in a strong setup, he could literally burst almost 20k of my health away instantly, plus I had his weakness - poison damage, despite this neither of us could kill each other although we both got close
- he had 33k health (must be in heavy)
- Was a stam temp
- duel wield and 2H
WW self heal put me off before, even pelinials set is not that great but I'm thinking what other sets to run?
I thought maybe run:
5 heavy
2 medium
Bone pirate
Pelinials
Kena or engine guardian
I need to see if monster sets proc in wolf (I think they do)

I know Krotha runs a build like 5 Pelinial, and some set where you Regen like 866 magicka a second and your sprint cost is reduced by 50%
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vd-8zJ1eMDg There is a pvp guild on azura (PC-EU), they play only with werewolves... Maybe try to join them if it's your server, you could learn a lot from them. Unfortunately I don't know guild's name.

i love playing ww in pvp...i would definitely recommend at least five pieces heavy armor if you plan on using it though...
as soon as you transform it's like every player in the zone suddenly becomes some fearless werewolf killer - a lot of incoming damage and getting rooted a bunch...
never tried it, but, i have a feeling the warrior's fury set would work really well...personally i think black rose as a base works fantastic with the werewolf...

Dreugh king slayer might be worth considering, since It would give you major brutality while in wolf form along with major expedition after every kill.

Yep and so does hircines rage. Those two buffs also stack so I recommend choosing both of them. Even if the heal overtime might sound good it is useless, so better to pick major brutality buff instead.Wrecking_Blow_Spam wrote: »

I tried out a WW pvp build with Pelinels too, though it was before 1T when I did it. But lemme tell ya... I had a lot of fun with it. I got the idea from this guide. In the guide it is recommended to play as a Templar, but I took the build and ran with it on my Sorc instead. I loved it, have used to a number of times to tear apart Proxy Det zergballs, because while inside of WW form in that setup you are super tanky, good sustain, and moderate damage (less bursty in the setup I used, more of a wear 'em down approach). Outside of WW form you are basically a major harass build with average damage and executes. I think one of the highlights of how I used this build was the group support outside of WW form; using Encase on large groups of players when they're trying to coordinate an offensive typically puts a wrench in their gears.
Per the question in the OP, I would make use of 5/1/1 instead of 5H/2M personally, as the extra max stats (particularly magicka) will scale up damage and sustain (particularly the WW heal, but not exclusively). I'd also probably choose a different monster set. That guide recommended EG (at least back before it was nerfed); I think I'd go with something like Stormfist or Kragh now.

I agree... which leads me to contribute my PVP werewolf build:
Troll King + Black Rose + Fasalla's Guile
1) Troll King alongside the extra magicka from tri-stat food results in good (not great) healing. I like Hircine's Fortitude because the weak HOT will proc Troll King... but, I am giving up the 10% Weapon Damage from Hircine's Rage.
2) Fasalla's Guile combined with Claws of Anguish virtually destroy's your opponents' healing capabilities. As stated above, werewolves are natural taunts for opposing players in PVP, and every one that hits you will be debuffed by Fasalla's Guile. Claws of Anguish is an AOE major defile - so, combined with Fasalla's Guile, you are debuffing 80% of opposing players' healing.
3) I like Black Rose for the balanced stats and resource return, but I see potential for running something like Orgnum's Scales, Fury, 7th Legion, or maybe even Trainee. Sometimes I get frustrated by the high ultimate cost, so I admit that sometimes I will swap in the Salvation set in place of Black Rose.
